We get asked all the time about what kind of air fryer we use, and the answer’s in the pages of our new book: a Dual Zone Air Fryer with a 9.5 litre capacity and 2470W of power.

If you’ve not got an air fryer at home yet, or you’re considering upgrading a lower-budget model, we’d recommend the Ninja Ninja Foodi MAX Dual Zone Air Fryer AF400UK. You can use the code ‘PINCHOFNOM’ at the checkout to get £100 off RRP – while stocks last!

The dual drawers make it so easy to rustle up two different air fryer recipes that you want to be ready at the same time. Just imagine a sticky-sweet batch of our Air Fryer Gochujang Chicken Nuggets (page 70) in the left-hand drawer, while our Air Fryer Salt and Pepper Chips (page 80) crisp to perfection on the right. That’s all of our Fakeaway dreams come true!

You’ll also find a full section on our favourite bits of air-frying kit on pages 24-25. We’re not saying you need to buy everything we’ve suggested; they’re mostly nice-to-have gadgets and accessories that you might find useful!

A batch of chips cooked in a washable and reusable silicone liner might not turn out quite as crispy, but we think it’s worth it for how easy they make the clean-up afterwards!

Step 3: Take stock of ingredients and write your meal plan

Anyone who knows Pinch of Nom, knows that we’ll never send you shopping for fancy ingredients that are time-consuming to prepare. We like to get creative with staple, everyday ingredients that you’re likely to have in your shopping rotation already, so you can always put together a slimming-friendly meal plan with plenty of variety.

Turn to page 46 right now if you’ve got a sweet tooth…our Air Fryer Banana and Raspberry French Toast recipe turns bread, eggs and fresh fruit into a crunchy, creamy, brunch-time feast.

It’s all ready in just 6 minutes for only 366 calories per serving!

If midweek dinners are where you want to start, you won’t regret raiding your cupboards for flour, milk and eggs to make our Air Fryer Cosy Pigs in the Hole (on page 112). We’ve brought the calories down by bundling chipolatas inside of lean bacon medallion blankets.

It’s simply got to be served with your favourite greens, mashed potatoes and homemade gravy for the full comfort food effect.

You might fancy experimenting with a super quick nibble for your first recipe! The Air Fryer Chickpeas (page 142) in our Light Bites chapter can be made with a choice of home-mixed coatings (three savoury, one sweet), and they’ll be golden, crispy and ready to snack on in less than 20 minutes.

Step 4: Make the most of our handy conversion charts

Sometimes, the trickiest part of air-frying can be judging the cooking times for different ingredients. If you know how long you’d normally oven-bake a dish, that’s a great starting point for getting to trips with our oven to air fryer conversion chart on page 33.

It’s worth noting that every air fryer is slightly different, with some models being more powerful than others; it’s likely to take a bit of trial and error over time! We’d always advise checking on your ingredients while they’re cooking, to make sure they’re air-fried to your liking.

We’ve also added a really useful Air Fryer Favourites Cooking Guide on page 34, where we’ve suggested temperatures and cooking times based on key ingredients.

If you don’t cook with aubergine much, you’ll want to eat it all the time after you’ve tried our Air Fryer Sticky Teriyaki Aubergine fakeaway (on page 66). Just like our chart says, it’ll take around 12-15 minutes to cook everything through, lip-smacking glaze included.

Step 5: Visit our Air Fryer hub for more handy bits and bobs

We’ve peppered lots of air-frying hints and tips throughout our latest cookbook, and we’ll always leave a note if you need to use a particular accessory or ingredient to make a recipe perfect.

To make our dishes adaptable, we’ve also made suggestions for ingredient swaps where possible. You’ll always know the dietary recommendations from a quick glance to the badges at the top left of each recipe page, as well as whether or not a recipe is freezable.

It’s good to know that our Air Fryer Cheesy Garlic Naanzone recipe on page 54 can be stashed away to reheat on a rainy day – that heavenly gooey middle is too good to enjoy only once!

Any advice that we couldn’t fit into the pages of our air fryer book is really easy to find in the brand-new section of our website: How to Use an Air Fryer. Take a scroll through plenty of helpful blogs and step-by-step videos answering your top air-frying FAQs, like ‘How do I clean the heating element in my air fryer?’
