Traditionally Lasagne is made by interweaving layers of pasta with layers of bolognese sauce, usually consisting of minced beef and tomatoes.
However, to make this Lasagne slimming friendly we have packed it full of vegetables. We advise using good quality tinned tomatoes for the sauce as some can be quite watery and acidic. It really does make a big difference to the finished dish!
One of the most difficult parts of Lasagne to make slimming friendly is the white sauce. We’ve tried quite a few versions of this sauce, from blitzed cottage cheese to quark, but this is probably the best one so far. It’s well worth giving it a go!
Do you need any special ingredients or equipment to make this Lasagne?
This Lasagne recipe doesn’t require any special kitchen gadgets or tools to make. It does involve cutting up lots of vegetables so we would advise using a nice sharp knife to make the task a little easier.

Add the mince, and cook until it starts to brown.
Step 3
Add the herbs and Worcestershire sauce, then continue to cook for a few more minutes.

Stir in the tomato puree, Oxo cubes and tinned tomatoes. Add 200 ml water and stir well.
Step 7
Put the lid on the pan and simmer for 20-30 minutes.
Step 8
Adjust seasoning if necessary.
Step 9
Spread a layer of the mince mixture on the bottom of a decent sized oven proof dish, then add a layer of lasagne sheets, then repeat until you reach the top of the dish, ending with a layer of lasagne sheets. Make sure you leave enough room for the sauce.

I made this last night and it was absolutely gorgeous! Thank you! I chopped everything in the Magimix so it really was very very easy and the yoghurt and cheese topping was lovely. This really didn’t taste like a diet recipe. Will be adding this to my regular list and can’t wait until tonight for the leftovers.

Hi, tried your lasange receipe, very good only thing was the elite sauce make according to instruction but it had a spongy omolette texture used 0% fat free Greek yogurt, any tips for to make it creamy
Jo hamiltonMonday 6th February 2017
Can you use quark for the white sauce?
KateMonday 6th February 2017
Hi Jo
You may find that the quark will split and curdle if you use it on it’s own, but you could probably use half yogurt and half quark
WaheedaMonday 23rd January 2017

Emma RoseFriday 6th January 2017
Hello
Is there any way of doing an individual lasagne? The measurements are hard to divide for a single portion.
Thanks in advance!

TheresaMonday 22nd August 2016
Excellent recipe. My kids love it too.
Easy to follow – a great version of a classic recipe.
One I have used on more than one occasion. I personally don’t add courgette or pepper … it’s lovely either way.
ClaireMonday 15th August 2016
Can I please ask where u buy the tinned tomatoes and purée from please? Thank u
KateMonday 15th August 2016
You can get Cirio tomato products from most supermarkets, apart from Asda I think. They are quite often on offer too! They are definitely my favourite ones to use, but you can easily use other brands too
CarolThursday 11th August 2016
Can you freeze this please?
KateMonday 15th August 2016
Yes you can, but you may need to put some extra chopped tomatoes in there. I find that sometimes lasagne can be a little drier after freezing.
NikkiWednesday 10th August 2016
It says 2 eggs but I can’t see where youv used these?? X
KayWednesday 10th August 2016
Hi Nikki, they’re at step 1 of the white sauce

Could also make this using leeks instead of the pasta sheets. Cut the leek down one side so you can spread each layer of the leek flat and use them. It’s delicious.
