This week’s Weekly Pinch of Shopping showcases some delicious treats that won’t blow your slimming plan! Look out for sugar free biscuits, chocolate dessert pots and some surprising vegetable goodies – who knew seaweed could taste so good?!
We’ve even found a frozen version of a childhood favourite that tastes really naughty, but is actually slimming friendly.

Morrisons Strawberry and Watermelon Juice – 77 calories per serving
If you struggle to get your 5 a day, then this Morrisons Strawberry and Watermelon Juice could be just the thing you need.
This juice is a combo of two of our absolute favourite flavours and a 150ml serving counts as one of your 5 a day. It’s also suitable for vegans and at 77 calories per serving, is perfect to enjoy on your slimming journey.
As if that wasn’t good enough, this Morrisons Strawberry and Watermelon Juice is never from concentrate and has no added sugars – it’s naturally sweet enough!
We love a glass of this with our breakfast and it’s the perfect partner to our Breakfast Bakes or our Cinnamon Swirls.

Ryvita Sweet and Salted Rye Cakes – 23 calories per cake
Why choose between sweet and salty, when you can have both? It works for popcorn, and now you can enjoy this tasty flavour combo on the go with these Ryvita Sweet and Salted Rye Cakes.
Perfect for lunch served with our Sweet Chilli Hummus, or why not take inspiration from our Cheesecake Stuffed Strawberries and top them with lighter cream cheese, strawberries and a sprinkle of biscuit for a sweet snack!
These Ryvita Sweet and Salted Rye Cakes come in at 23 calories per cake and they’re also low fat and vegan too.
They’re currently on offer at £1 per pack on Ocado (usually £1.39).
Itsu Crispy Seaweed Thins – 24 calories per pack
Over on our Facebook Group, Shaun McGiff let us know about these Itsu Crispy Seaweed Thins and, although they might sound strange at first, they’re actually a fantastic slimming friendly alternative to higher calorie crisps – and really tasty!
These Seaweed Thins come in at just 24 calories per pack (which works out at 2 calories per thin) and are high in vitamin B12, protein, fibre and iodine.
They’re also veggie friendly, 100% natural and have a delicious sea salt flavour. If you fancy a stronger flavour then these Itsu Crispy Seaweed Thins are also available in Wasabi and Sweet Soy and Sea Salt flavours.
These thins are perfect when served on their own, but would also be delicious with some of our Chickpea Tikka Dip for a quick snack or as part of a light lunch.
You can find these Itsu Crispy Seaweed Thins in Sainsburys where they’re currently on offer at £1.50 for a pack of 3 (usually £2).
Müller Light Limited Edition Coffee Frappé Flavour Yogurt – 82 calories per pot
We love Müller’s range of low fat, flavoured yogurts and their newest addition is no different.
The Müller Light Limited Edition Coffee Frappé Flavour Yogurt might only be around for a limited time, but we think that it might just be one of our new favourites!
Just 82 calories per pot, with 0% fat and no added sugar, these yogurts are also suitable for vegetarians.
It’s the perfect way to get the taste of a coffee shop frappé without ever having to leave the house and is a perfect afternoon snack when served alongside one of our Coconut and Banana Chocolate Chip Cookies.
You can pick up this Müller Light Limited Edition Coffee Frappé Flavour Yogurt from most supermarkets and they’re currently on offer at Sainsburys for 35p per 160g pot (usually 50p).
Morrisons V Taste Cauliflower Popcorn – 97 calories per ¼ pack serving
We always like to have something quick and easy on hand in the freezer for those days when we’ve spent all day long in the kitchen and just can’t face cooking again!
This Morrisons V Taste Cauliflower Popcorn is absolutely ideal as it can be cooked from frozen and it’s suitable for vegan diets as well!
At just 97 calories per ¼ pack serving it’s slimming friendly as well, but the crispy golden batter coating makes it feel much naughtier than it really is.
Serve with our Garlic Green Beans for a quick, light dinner or alongside our Red Pepper Hummus as a tasty snack.

Alpen Muesli No Added Sugar – 166 calories per bowl
Designed to help keep you full until lunchtime, Alpen Muesli No Added Sugar is full of wholegrain wheatflakes, rolled oats, almonds, roasted hazelnuts and raisins and has just 166 calories per bowl (45g serving)!
Low in saturated fat and high in fibre, this cereal also has no added sugar, is suitable for vegetarian diets and is made from 100% natural ingredients.
This Alpen Muesli No Added Sugar is the perfect quick breakfast to enjoy before work or school when served with milk or yogurt, but we also love it sprinkled on top of our Overnight Oats for some added crunch.
You can pick a 550g box up for £2.95 at most supermarkets.
Zeroh! Sugar Free Digestives – 57 calories per biscuit
Settling down with a cuppa and a biscuit is a great way to relax and unwind, whether it’s in the evening or for a quick break on a busy day.
Biscuits aren’t always the most slimming friendly choice, but that’s not the case with these Zeroh! Sugar Free Digestives!
These tasty, sugar free treats are just 57 calories per biscuit, high in fibre, free from colours or preservatives and suitable for vegetarians.
If you’re not a traditional digestive fan, then you can also find slimming friendly chocolate coated digestives and chocolate chip cookies in this range too (61 and 85 calories per biscuit respectively)!
We think that these Zeroh! Sugar Free Digestives are ideal for dunking in a cup of tea or coffee, but if you’re in the mood for something a bit more fancy, then they also pair really well with our Pumpkin Spiced Latte.
You can pick these biscuits up at Asda, Morrisons and Iceland for £1.20 per pack.
Properchips Salt and Vinegar Lentil Curls – 93 calories per serving
We love a bag of crisps as an afternoon snack, and one of our favourite flavours is salt and vinegar – they’re just sooo good!
Since we started our slimming journey, crisps haven’t been something that we can enjoy very often as they’re usually fried in oil and high in calories, but Properchips Salt and Vinegar Lentil Curls are the perfect alternative.
These crispy lentil chips are sprinkled with apple cider vinegar and sea salt to create that combo that we all know and love, but they come in at just 93 calories per ¼ bag serving.
Suitable for gluten free and vegan diets and with nothing artificial, these Properchips Salt and Vinegar Lentil Curls come in 85g bags which makes them ideal for sharing on a movie night.
You can pick these up from Tesco where they’re currently on offer at £1 per 85g bag (usually £1.99).
Halo Top Chocolate Pots – 143 calories per pot
Sometimes there’s just nothing quite like a chocolate fix to help silence your sweet tooth, but chocolate desserts aren’t always slimming friendly.
Halo Top’s Chocolate Pots are the answer! These tasty desserts come in at just 143 calories per pot, but they taste so indulgent that you’d never guess how low on calories they are.
Chocolate flavour mousse and sauce topped with chocolate brownie pieces? Sounds like our idea of heaven!
If you’re after something sweet but aren’t a massive fan of chocolate, these Halo Top Pots are also available in Salted Caramel and Birthday Cake, which come in at 135 and 153 calories respectively.
We’ve found these Halo Top Chocolate Pots in Tesco and Asda for around £2.50 – £3 for a pack of two.
Barratt Flumps Mini Vanilla Flavour Ice Cream Lollies – 55 calories per lolly
If you’re anything like us then Barratt’s Flumps were a childhood favourite! These new ice cream lollies are a local calorie take on the classic sweet and they’re free from artificial colours and flavours too.
These Barratt Flumps Mini Vanilla Flavour Ice Cream Lollies come in at just 55 calories per lolly – yes really! – which means that they’re the perfect slimming friendly way to enjoy a sweet treat.
If Flumps aren’t your thing, then you can also grab these in Dip Dab, Black Jacks and Fruit Salad flavours which are slightly higher in calories at 85, 88 and 99 calories per lolly, but are still a fantastic, slimming friendly option!
Barratt Flumps Mini Vanilla Flavour Ice Cream Lollies are available exclusively at Iceland for £2 per pack of 6. The other three flavours in this range are also available at Iceland and are £2 for a pack of 4.
