It’s been a busy week, hasn’t it? Sit back, relax and put your feet up with a gorgeous, indulgent-tasting pud. The Neapolitan-style profiteroles we’ve spotted taste as delightful as they look (and they look so impressive!).
Our newest cookbook, Pinch of Nom: Budget, has been out in the world for a few weeks now and we couldn’t be more proud of it. Has your copy arrived yet? We’re absolutely loving seeing everybody’s photos and posts. Don’t forget to tag us when you’re sharing them, we don’t want to miss a single one!

You’ll get 50 brand-new recipes and 25 fan-favourites dishes that cut down on costs, without compromising on the Nom flavours you know and love.

Our Weekly Pinch of Shopping list aims to show you slimming-friendly products that you can find online or in one of your local supermarkets. We try to make it as easy as possible for you to pick up these items as part of your usual weekly shop, and we’ll always include the calorie information and the RRP for you.
Please remember that, although all prices are correct at the time of writing, supermarkets can change their prices often, so this should be used as a guide only.
Along with our favourite new finds from the supermarket shelves, each week we include details of the Aldi Super 6. Every fortnight Aldi discounts a selection of 6 fruits and veggies that you can pick up for a fraction of the price. This week we’ve given you a reminder of the current selection, so hurry down to Aldi to pick up some bargains before a fresh selection goes on offer next week!

Morrisons Savers Low Fat Strawberry Yoghurt – 96 calories per 1/3 pot
We love a bargain that’s low in calories, and Morrisons Savers Low Fat Strawberry Yoghurt definitely ticks both of those boxes. A velvety, fruity pot, it’ll fall nicely into your daily routine as a light snack all on its own, or you can add a dollop to your breakfast bowl of granola for an extra-special start to your day.
If you’re a fan of strawberries, you’ll love our Strawberry Cheesecake Frozen Yoghurt. An oh-so-creamy summer pudding, we’ve ramped up the indulgence with a crunchy topping of biscuit crumbs and added lashings of tangy, homemade strawberry puree to finish
It’s always a good idea to have a batch on standby in the freezer (it’ll keep nicely for up to 3 months), so you can cool down with a scoop at a moment’s notice.
Morrisons Savers Low Fat Strawberry Yoghurt is available from Morrisons, priced at 95p for a 450g pot.
Sainsbury’s Flourish High Protein Peanut Granola – 201 calories per serving
There’s no such thing as a boring breakfast with Sainsbury’s Flourish High Protein Peanut Granola. Mixed with a crunchy combination of peanuts and linseeds, the high protein, fibre-filled oat clusters should leave you feeling full until lunchtime.
These Banana and Peanut Muffins might look small, but don’t be fooled – they’re a fantastically filling pick-me-up! Prepare a stash for while you’re out of the house, and you’ll always have an easy, tasty, 53-calorie snack to hand.
Great with a mid-morning cuppa, these nutty little bakes will see you through until you’re cracking open your tupperware at lunch.
We’ve got a blog with more tips on how to eat healthily while you’re on the go here.
Sainsbury’s Flourish High Protein Peanut Granola is available from Sainsbury’s, priced at £2.35 per box.
Skinny Whip Minis Coconut & Dark Chocolate – 32 calories per mini
Next time you’re feeling peckish, nibble on a couple of these Skinny Whip Minis Coconut and Dark Chocolate minis. We’re talking about a creamy coconut centre, coated in a silky layer of delectable dark chocolate.
At 32 calories per bite, it’s well worth taking a packet on-the-go with you. For a bit of variety in your snack selection, you can grab mint or toffee-flavoured minis from the same range too.
Inspired by school dinner days, Coconut and Jam Sponge is one of the most popular recipes from our fourth cookbook, Pinch of Nom: Comfort Food (turn to page 254 for the full recipe). Each light and airy sponge square comes topped with a moreish layer of sweet strawberry jam and coconut shavings. They’re delightful with a cuppa, or pop them in a bowl with a glug of Custard for a trip down memory lane.
Skinny Whip Minis Coconut & Dark Chocolate are available from ASDA, priced at £1.00 per packet.
Morrisons Fish Pie Mix – 102 calories per 100g serving
With Morrisons Fish Pie Mix in the freezer, there’s no need to buy the seafood for a hearty, midweek fish pie separately. Once the basa, salmon and king prawns have cooked through, transfer to an oven dish and add the signature fluffy potato topping.
For our version of Admiral’s Fish Pie, we’ve used a piping bag to neaten up our mashed potatoes. While it looks great, the most impressive thing about this recipe has to be how light it is – 600 calories per portion!
We’ve combined quark with smoked haddock, cod, salmon, prawns and mussels, but you can use a pre-mixed bag for your filling. Just be sure to take note of additional calories, if you’re keeping track.
Morrisons Fish Pie Mix is available from Morrisons, priced at £5.00 per pack.
Tesco Plant Chef Masala Cauliflower Burgers – 155 calories per burger
Tesco Plant Chef Masala Cauliflower Burgers are a tasty reminder of how brilliantly versatile cauliflower is. Just as juicy and satisfying as a regular beef burger, these cauliflower-based patties were made to be loaded with your favourite toppings.
They’ll be a match made in heaven with fresh salad and the cooling mint-infused yoghurt dip from our Minted Lamb Kebabs recipe.
Once you’ve got the knack of our Halloumi Couscous Burgers with Salsa, you won’t be able to go back. Use their golden coating as your guide while they’re cooking – when a lovely-looking crust has formed underneath your patties, that’s your cue to get flipping.
Tesco Plant Chef Masala Cauliflower Burgers are available from Tesco, priced at £1.95 for a pack of 2 burgers.
M&S Korean Style BBQ Chicken Kebabs – 145 calories per skewer
If the weather’s not up to scratch, bring the barbecue flavours indoors with M&S Korean Style BBQ Chicken Kebabs. Sear them in a frying pan to lock in those smoky flavours, before they’re baked to juicy perfection in the oven.
They come infused with mild garlic, ginger and chilli seasoning – all that’s left for you to do is drizzle over the included sachet of sticky spiced-caramel soy sauce.
Feeling inspired to make your own kebabs at home? Our Seekh Kebabs are a super simple place to start, and you can even get the kids involved – the prep is that easy!
Make them in the oven, or grill them straight on the barbecue for around 15 minutes. Cut them open before they’re served, just to double-check that they’re thoroughly cooked through.

M&S Korean Style BBQ Chicken Kebabs are available from Ocado, priced at £5.00 for a pack of 4 kebabs.
Sainsbury’s Fire Roasted Red Pepper Dip, Summer Edition, Taste the Difference – 165 calories per 1/2 pot
Did you know that tasty dips like Sainsbury’s Fire Roasted Red Pepper (Summer Edition) can give leftover vegetables a new lease of life?
Slice stray veggies into batons and get ready to dunk. The mildly-spiced blend of tomatoes, roasted red peppers, chickpeas and punchy jalapeños will do the rest.
We can’t talk about the deliciousness of roasted red peppers without mentioning our Creamy Roasted Red Pepper and Chicken Pasta. A comfort food staple, this easy-peasy pasta deserves a spot on your midweek dinner rotation.
By blitzing together fresh ingredients at home, we’ve cut down on the calories you’d normally find in shop-bought pasta sauce without compromising on bold, Italian-style flavours. Bring on the garlic bread!
Sainsbury’s Fire Roasted Red Pepper Dip, Summer Edition, Taste the Difference is available from Sainsbury’s, priced at £2.25 per pot (or £1.50 with a Nectar card).
Morrisons Takeaway Battered Chicken Chunks – 123 calories per 4 chunks
Far better for your bank balance than ordering from a local restaurant, these Morrisons Takeaway Battered Chicken Chunks are only £2.50 per bag. They’re great for recreating your go-to Friday night feast, especially if you’re taking them for a dip in our homemade Chip Shop Curry Sauce.
For an even fancier Chinese-inspired family feast, why not rustle up a side of Salt and Pepper Chips too? To cut out any hidden nasties, we’ve put together our spice blend using staple store cupboard herbs and spices.
Don’t forget to add extra chilli flakes, if you’re feeling brave!
Morrisons Takeaway Battered Chicken Chunks are available from Morrisons, priced at £2.50 per bag.
Brooklea Coffee Flavour Protein Pudding – 149 calories per pot
These Brooklea Coffee Flavour Protein Puddings are a silky smooth way to add more protein to your diet. We talked about the chocolatey flavour of Aldi’s protein-packed pots last year, and their latest flavours have us excited all over again.
Velvety and thick, each pot has a whopping 20g of protein – whether you take home their Coffee or Strawberry Delight Puddings.
Calling all coffee lovers! Our Espresso Martini Trifle was made for you. Layered with boozy, espresso jelly, chocolatey yoghurt, cream and pre-made brownies, it’s hard to believe they come in as light as 284 calories per serving.
Brooklea Coffee Flavour Protein Pudding (and Strawberry Delight flavour) is available from Aldi, priced at £1.25 per pot.
Tesco Finest Neapolitan Profiteroles – 212 calories per 3 profiteroles
This colourful selection of Tesco Finest Neapolitan Profiteroles is sure to be a hit with friends and family. There’s brown Belgian chocolate, pink strawberry fondant and white chocolate fondant toppings to choose from, with a decadently creamy centre at the heart of each choux pastry case.
Since it’s 212 calories for 3 profiteroles, we’d say try one of each with an added swirl of reduced-fat aerosol cream…
There’s no denying that profiteroles are scrumptious, but they can be tricky to make. Our Chocolate Orange Profiteroles keeps things as simple as possible, using a number of reduced-fat swaps to lower the calories.
Finished with a drizzle of chocolate, they’re pure pastry perfection.
Tesco Finest Neapolitan Profiteroles are available from Tesco, priced at £4.50 for a pack of 12 profiteroles.
