As you will probably know, there are a few different wraps you can use as your HEB, but we’ve found that the Weight Watchers Wraps are the best for making things like Pasties, Sausage Rolls, and these 1.5 Syn Apple Turnovers.

Whenever we need to replace oil in cooking we use Frylight. Perfect for everyday frying and cooking, it delivers exactly one calorie per spray, which makes it Syn free!

The Sunflower or Butter flavours are ideal for this 1.5 Syn Apple Turnovers recipe.

How many Syns are in these 1.5 Syn Apple Turnovers?

We’ve used 1 Weight Watchers Wrap to make 2 Apple Turnovers, so that means 1 turnover uses half of your HEB allowance.

Of course you could have 2 of them for your whole HEB and 3 Syns.

If you choose not to use the wrap as your HEB, then it will cost you 5.5 Syns per wrap, plus the Syns for the cooked apple.

As you will know, cooked fruit should be Synned when following the Slimming World plan, so if you are using the wrap as your HEB, the cooked apple is the only thing that will need Synning.

We’ve used cooking apples for this 1.5 Syn Apple Turnovers recipe, which works out at 1.5 Syns for the 90g used for each turnover.

You can use eating apples, but they are a little higher in Syns.

As you will probably know last year Slimming World brought out some new recommendations regarding the syn value of granulated sweeteners. This means that:

Where there is 1 tbsp or more being used per serving they recommend you count 0.5 Syn per tbsp. If using smaller amounts, like a pinch or teaspoon, there’s no need to worry about Syns at all.

This 1.5 Syn Apple Turnovers recipe uses 2 teaspoons of sweetener and is divided into 2 portions. That’s 1 a teaspoon per portion, so there’s no need to add any syns on for the sweetener itself.

    1. Hi Julie
WW low fat wraps are available from large supermarkets, e.g. Asda, Tesco, Morrisons, so you don’t need to be a member of any groups to buy them. We know that there have been some supply issues, but we understand that the situation is better now.
You’ll usually find them on the bread and baked goods aisle of the supermarket.

    1. Hi Kim
Yes, the BFree wraps are also an HEB choice. Apparently the lack of gluten makes them a bit trickier to work with, but persevere with them!

  1. If I choose to freeze it after cooking, once it’s defrosted how do I reheat it? I’m guessing oven for 10 mins or so? Thanks

    1. Hi Lucy
You’ll need to reheat until the filling is heated through thoroughly. Make sure the oven isn’t too high, otherwise the wraps will burn before the filling is hot.
