How is this 1 Syn Corned Beef Hash so low in Syns?

Corned Beef Hash has long been a favourite of ours, however, since starting Slimming World we’ve not really bothered to try due to the high Sys value of tinned corned beef.

Regular corned beef would cost you around 3 Syns per 100g, but if you get Princes Lean Corned Beef it will only cost you 1.5 Syns for the same amount.

This 1 Syn Corned Beef Hash recipe will feed 3 people, so that works out at only 1 Syn a portion. How good is that?!

You also get plenty of corned beef in there. We like portions on the “larger” side, and were very happy with the portion sizes.

How do I make this 1 Syn Corned Beef Hash?

It really couldn’t be easier:

Step 1

Peel the potatoes cut them into chunks, then cook them in boiling salted water until they are soft.

Step 2

While the potatoes are cooking wash and roughly chop the spring onions, and cut the corned beef into chunks and set them aside.

Step 3

Drain the potatoes and roughly mash them. You don’t want it too smooth as the hash should be quite chunky.

Mix the spring onion and corned beef into the mashed potato, then spray a frying pan with some Frylight and heat it up.

    1. Hi Dorothy
We like to keep our recipes as quick and easy as possible because we find that if they’re a bit too complicated or time consuming then people are more likely to fall off the wagon 🙂

    1. Hi Vikkie
We’re so glad we discovered the lean one. We love corned beef, so it’s nice to be able to have it again.

  1. Hi Kate, I would love to try this recipe but have been unable to find the reduced fat corned beef.
Could you please tell me where it is sold?

    1. Hi Margaret
Asda, Tesco, Sainsburys and Morrisons all have Princes Lean Corned Beef available to order online, so I think they should have it instore too

  2. I’ve just bought some lean corned beef from the Coop local store so it must be becoming more widely available now…

  3. As a returner to Slimming World, I am loving your recipes! Made the corned beef has today without the egg and whilst I loved it, I found it quite dry. (Probably lack of butter), or maybe type of potatoes. Any suggestions to make it a wee bit more moist?

    1. Hi Eleanor,

The egg would add some moisture, you could add a splash of milk to loosen it, but may effect how much if crisps up.

      Hope you enjoyed them!
