This Korean-Style BBQ Beef is the perfect midweek supper and our low carb, sugar free version means that you can enjoy it even if you’re counting calories or following a plan like Weight Watchers.
We don’t know about you, but we adore a good steak and, as you can see in the pictures, we prefer ours to be medium rare. If you like yours a little more well done then that’s not a problem, just cook it for a little longer!
Our Korean-Style BBQ Beef combines soy, ginger and garlic and if you’re a fan of Asian flavours then you’ll definitely love this!

How many calories are in this Korean-Style BBQ Beef?

Step 1
Mix all the ingredients together (apart from the sirloins).
Step 2
Reserve a small amount (about 1/2 tablespoon) of the marinade for later
Step 3
Add the steaks to the marinade, cover and refrigerate for at least half an hour (you can leave them overnight).
Step 4
Turn on the Optigrill and select the steak setting, then press OK.
Step 5
Allow the Optigrill to preheat. When it’s ready, the indicator light will stop flashing and you will hear a beep.
Step 6
Cook the steaks on the Optigrill until the desired degree of cooking is reached. Yellow for rare, orange for medium or red for well done.
Step 7
Remove the steaks from the grill, allow them to rest for a minute or so, then cut into slices.
Step 8
Drizzle over the remaining marinade.
Step 9
Serve with whatever you like. We chose boiled rice and a selection of freshly chopped vegetables.

How do you know when this Korean-Style BBQ Beef is cooked?
You should cook your Korean-Style BBQ Beef for around 10 minutes on the Tefal Optigrill or until the steaks are cooked to your preference. Make sure that they’re piping hot before serving.
Standard advice here in the UK is to cook food until it has reached 70°C and stayed at that temperature for 2 minutes. This is to keep your family safe.
Can I cook this Korean-Style BBQ Beef any other way?
Yes, you can!
You can cook this Korean-Style BBQ Beef for around 10 minutes on the Tefal Optigrill.
If you prefer then you could also cook this recipe in a hot frying pan for around 3-5 minutes per side (depending on how thick your steak is and how you like it cooked!).

Once you’ve put it out, ideally you should eat it within 4 hours.
If you allow any leftovers to cool, make sure to refrigerate in a container with a lid and chill. You can keep leftovers of Korean-Style BBQ Beef in the fridge for approximately 3 days or so.

Yes you can! The steaks in this recipe can be frozen before cooking, but please remember to do the following;
- Freeze it after step 3.
- Use a container or bag that is suitable for freezing.

How do I reheat this Korean-Style BBQ Beef?
This Korean BBQ Beef is best served fresh and not reheated, as it can over cook and become tough, however any leftovers are great served cold as a salad topping.
From frozen: Allow to defrost and then follow the recipe from step 4.

You can cook this in a hot frying pan for around 3-5 minutes per side, depending on the depth of your steak and how you like your steak cooked ????
