This is good basic recipe however I find it needs lots of additional seasoning and tweaking to taste. I add extra garlic, onion granules and quite a bit of salt and pepper. Then I add lemon juice and coriander, ground coriander if I have it, leaf if not. Actually fresh corinader might be even better.

I used fat free natural yogurt instead of quark which works really well. However, it was much too salty using the quantities recommended. Think I’ll try and halve it next time. May just be me as I’m not a big fan of salt!!

Does anyone know if you have to cook the chickpeas or beans first? (Don’t want to give myself a dodgy tummy) x
LisaMonday 8th April 2019
Hi, Heather
Tinned chickpeas and beans are already cooked, so just drain and give them a rinse, and you are good to go!
Hope this helps.

I couldn’t eat this it tasted awful for me, all I could taste is quark. Any other alternatives please?
CateMonday 3rd June 2019
You can use fat free natural yogurt or fromage frais in place of the quark 🙂

What blender do you have? The one in the images above.
CateMonday 8th April 2019
In the pictures we have used a Thermomix TM5 – it’s not really a blender but it has a blending function! Hope that helps 🙂
