Instructions

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 160ºC. Cut the apple into small dice and place into the bottom of 4 individual, ovenproof dishes. Distribute the blackberries evenly among the 4 dishes. Sprinkle half of the sweetener over the fruit.

Step 2

In a mixing bowl, add the flour, oats, reduced fat spread and the remaining half the sweetener. Rub between your fingers until it looks like bread crumbs.

Step 3

Top the fruit with the crumble mixture and spray with low calorie cooking spray.

Step 4

Bake in the oven for 25 minutes until golden and the fruit is soft. Serve whilst hot with your choice of topping or sauce.

How do you know when this Apple and Blackberry Crumble is cooked?

You should bake this Apple and Blackberry Crumble for 25 minutes or until it’s golden and the fruit is soft.

Standard advice here in the UK is to cook food until it has reached 70°C and stayed at that temperature for 2 minutes. This is to keep your family safe. 

How long can you keep Apple and Blackberry Crumble in the fridge?

Once you’ve put it out, ideally you should eat it within 4 hours.

If you allow any leftovers to cool, make sure to refrigerate in a container with a lid and chill.  You can keep leftovers of Apple and Blackberry Crumble in the fridge for approximately 3 days or so.

How do I reheat Apple and Blackberry Crumble?

From chilled: Place in a microwave proof container with loosely fitting lid and heat for 4-7 minutes until piping hot.

From frozen: Allow to defrost, and heat covered in the microwave for 3-5 minutes then stir. Cook for a further 5-7 minutes or until piping hot.

  • 3 tbsp granulated sweetener
  • low calorie cooking spray
