NHS guidelines suggest men should aim for 2,500 calories per day to maintain a healthy body weight, and women require around 2000 calories. Step 1
Add the beef mince, garlic granules, onion granules, paprika and a little salt and pepper into a mixing bowl. Mix together until the spices are fully incorporated. Split the beef mince into 4 and shape into 4 burger patties.
Step 2
Spray a frying pan with low-calorie cooking spray and set on a medium heat. Add the burgers and fry for 3 minutes. Flip the burgers over and add the bacon to the pan. Cook for another 3 minutes, until the burgers are cooked through. Turn off the heat and add a cheese slice to the top of each burger.
Step 3
While the burgers are cooking, add the mayo, ketchup, Dijon mustard, and pickle vinegar to a small bowl and stir until smooth.
Step 4
Toast the inside of the bagel thins and spread the bottom half with a little of the burger sauce. Add some gherkins and a burger patty.
Step 5
Add some sliced tomato, rocket and some of the bacon strips to each burger. Drizzle with any extra burger sauce and add the top of the bagel. Serve with your choice of accompaniment.

Once you’ve put it out, ideally you should eat it within 4 hours.
This recipe tastes best when it’s freshly made, although you could make the burger patties in advance and assemble it right before eating.
Can I freeze this Bagel Burger?
You can freeze the beef patties but we would recommend making everything else fresh, right before you want to serve it. This recipe is so quick to make and no trouble to rustle up on a busy day.
If you want to freeze the burger patties please remember to:
- Freeze them before cooking or as soon as they are cold enough.
- Use a container or bag that is suitable for freezing.
Don’t forget to add a label with what it is, and on what date you put it in the freezer!
How do I reheat Bagel Burger?
If you have frozen the beef patties before cooking, allow them to defrost overnight in the fridge and then cook as per step 2 of the recipe.
If you froze the cooked beef patties, follow the instructions below and then assemble the rest of the burger:
Defrost overnight in the fridge, then place in a microwavable container with a loosely fitting lid and heat for 4-7 minutes until piping hot.
