Our indulgent Chocolate French Toast is a fantastic, slimming friendly breakfast treat that’s perfect if you’re counting calories or following a plan like Weight Watchers.

French toast has to be one of our absolute favourite breakfasts and this Chocolate French Toast is unbelievably good. Nobody would have thought that something this tasty could be slimming friendly!

This Chocolate French Toast has all the things you’d expect from a standard french toast recipe – bread, eggs, spices, sweetness – but without all of the calories and Points.

The chocolate spread filling makes it extra special or you could even swap this out for your favourite jam instead.

We love ours served with fresh strawberries and a little aerosol cream – just remember to adjust the nutritional values accordingly!

What diets is this Chocolate French Toast suitable for?

This Chocolate French Toast recipe can be made gluten free as long as you swap out the following ingredients for gluten free versions;

Put the “sandwich” into the egg mixture. Leave to soak up the egg and spices for a minute, then turn and leave for another minute to soak on the opposite side.

Place a non-stick frying pan on a medium heat and spray with low calorie cooking spray. Carefully place the French Toast into the frying pan and fry on each side for about 3 minutes until golden and crisp.

  • 2 thin slices wholemeal bread
  • ½ tbsp chocolate hazelnut spread
  • 1 small egg beaten
  • ¼ tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ¼ tsp ground nutmeg
  • ½ tbsp granulated sweetener
  • low calorie cooking spray

Just made this for my breakfast today……heaven.
I used ww bread 2 slices opted out of sweetner. I served it with mixed berries which l heated up a bit. Delicious. Definitely going on favourite list.😍😍

Hi, just finished eating g this, it’s absolutely a firm favourite now, so good! I used kingsmill crustless so still got my 3rd slice left for later, no need to cut the crusts off. Thank you for the recipe! X
