You can even store the lemon syrup in an ice cube tray in your freezer – all that’s left to do is add water when you’re ready for a cold, zesty beverage!

Indoors or out, the classic, lemony flavours will be a winner with the whole family. You can always serve it up as a soft drink option alongside a few different slimming-friendly tipples if you’re hosting a get-together with friends. How Weight Watchers friendly is this Homemade Lemonade?

Weight Watchers’ new PersonalPoints plan calculates each individual’s Points allowance based on their unique food preferences and goals. This means we’re no longer able to offer exact WW points for our recipes.

The good news is that all of our recipes are still Weight Watchers friendly! If you have any questions about your Points budgets or you’re unsure how a certain recipe will fit into your plan, please reach out to Weight Watchers directly.

Do you need any special ingredients to make Homemade Lemonade?

Our Homemade Lemonade is made up of a handful of easy-to-find ingredients.

You will want to mix your lemon syrup in a durable, heatproof jug and use a non-reactive saucepan. Avoid using aluminium, unlined copper or tin cookware, as it may react with the acid from the lemon juice.

When you’re straining your juice, make sure you use a nylon sieve rather than a metal one!

Step 1

Cut thin slices of lemon peel from the whole of each lemon using a vegetable peeler or small sharp knife. You only need the yellow part, not any white pith as this will make the lemonade bitter.

Step 2

Place the lemon peel in a small non-reactive saucepan. This is a saucepan that’s made from a material that won’t react with the acidic lemon juice. A non-stick saucepan would be ideal, and avoid pans that are made from aluminium, unlined copper or tin.

Remove from the heat and strain into a heatproof jug, discarding the lemon peel. Stir in the sweetener and stir until dissolved. Leave the lemon syrup to cool.
