One-Pot Sunday Beef
Our One-pot Sunday Beef is a tasty alternative to a traditional Sunday lunch and means that you won't have to spend hours in the kitchen. The beef is deliciously tender and, as it produces its own gravy as it cooks, the potatoes, parsnips and carrots are super-full of flavour too. This is a real 'meat and two veg' (or three veg in this case!) kind of meal and is perfect served with some steamed green vegetables or our Loaded Cauliflower Cheese (page 224) and Marmite Roasties (page 229).
Hints & Tips
Below we added some of our communities most common hints and tips. We hope you find them useful.
Cool the beef within 2 hours of cooking, then divide into individual portions and freeze immediately.
If you find the gravy is too thick for your taste, thin it down with a small amount of boiling water, adding a little at a time. If the gravy is too think for your taste, place it in a small saucepan and simmer, uncovered, until reduced down to the desired thickness.
Use new potatoes or waxy potatoes as they will hold together during cooking. Don't use floury potatoes as they will fall apart during cooking.
