Hi, if im freezing this do i cook it all then freeze or freeze uncooked chicken in the sauce? Im thinking cook the chicken in the sauce then freeze before adding the cheese?

Reply

P KingmanTuesday 31st October 2017

Fab recipe, the only thing i have changed is to cook the chicken and bacon separately (so you can get crispy bacon). Then stack onto the oven cooked chicken, then the sauce with your cheese allocation on top then back in the oven to melt.

To be honest i cant tell the difference from a pre-made dish apart from being much better and more washing up!

Ohhh thank you I didn’t realise I could do that????????

Would it be ok to halve the BBQ sauce if only using 3 breast do you think??

If I froze a portion, would I have to thaw it out before cooking? How would I go about reheating? Xx

Reply

    Emma TTuesday 12th September 2017

    Hi Emily,

I would advise thawing before reheating – preferably reheat in the oven ????

Step 7 says to pour sauce over the chicken. What sauce? Is that not what I’ve done in step 3?

Can the bbq sauce be frozen? There are only 3 of us and would be good if that’s possible

    Hi Tracy,

We’ve never put it in the freezer (it never lasts long enough to!) but I can’t see any reason why it wouldn’t freeze

This looks fab and I can’t wait to try more SW friendly slow cooker recipes especially towards and across Winter. However, could I ask / suggest more info re Sukrin is given in terms of the right flavour to buy. I’ve checked Amazon (UK / .co.uk. version) and it doesn’t have ‘Sukrin 1’ it appears to go in flavour (I.e. Peanut, almond or coconut) alternatively a ‘gold’ and special baking versions. I really want to make sure I get the recipe and therefore flavour right! Thank you! 🙂
