Our Spicy Tomato Soup is based on the classic flavours of a Bloody Mary cocktail, which we know may be a bit of an acquired taste as a drink, but makes a great soup!
This recipe is super quick and easy and can be made mostly from store cupboard essentials which makes it an ideal lunch dish – perfect if you’re trying to get more vegetables into your diet. Although any tinned tomatoes will work for this recipe, as with most dishes that call for tinned tomatoes, the higher the quality of the ones you use, the nicer your soup will taste.
You can use as little or as much Tabasco sauce as you like for this recipe depending on how hot you like your food. If you’re not sure how much to add then just leave it until the very end and then add a dash at a time, stirring and tasting in between drops, until you reach the perfect level of spice. You can also substitute the Tabasco for any other hot sauce or even a little chilli powder if you’d prefer!

This Spicy Tomato Soup recipe is suitable for dairy free and vegetarian diets (if you’re using Worcestershire sauce, please check it’s vegetarian!) and can be made suitable for gluten free diets by swapping the following ingredients out for gluten free alternatives;
