Sainsbury’s Mexican Style Herb Kit
This handy little Mexican Style Herb Kit from Sainsbury’s is a time-saving hack. Whether you’re rustling up a curry or putting together a herby, Mexican-style dish, each pack comes carefully combined to add a boost of colour and flavour to your pot. With mildly-spiced chilli in the mix too, these luscious leaves are also perfect for salsa or guacamole (with a slight kick!).
Served to the side or as a Mexican-style main event, each crunchy cob comes topped with lime-infused yoghurt, chilli and crumbly feta. What more could you want?

ASDA Rhubarb & Ginger Juice Drink – 28 calories per 150ml
Looking for a sweet yet light refresher? This Rhubarb and Ginger Juice Drink from ASDA will perk up your taste buds for 28 calories per glass. A lovely late summer tipple, the citrusy combination of rhubarb and zingy ginger brightens up cloudier days.
Light and fruity sweet, our Pear and Ginger Crumble wraps up the day with warming satisfaction. Easy to prepare in batches with a simple list of store cupboard ingredients, we love that this fuss-free pud comes bursting with a juicy, ginger punch.
We’ve used oats instead of flour for our crumbly topping – it’s every bit as delicious for fewer calories!
ASDA Rhubarb & Ginger Juice Drink is available from Asda, priced at £1.35 per litre.
Itsu Noodle’Soup Chicken Gyoza & Greens – 331 calories per box
This Itsu Noodle’Soup Chicken Gyoza & Greens is a faff-free alternative when you’re fancying a cosy lunchtime warmer. Combining aromatic broth, rice noodles, fresh greens and Itsu’s signature chicken gyoza dumplings, each microwavable box leaves you full and satisfied for the day ahead. Easy peasy!
Usually prepared with fatty cuts of pork, our Turkey Bun Cha alternative keeps things much leaner with homemade turkey breast meatballs in an aromatic sauce.
Jam-packed with nutritious chopped veggies, spices and herbs, there’s so much deliciousness in every noodle-wrapped forkful. It’s slurping heaven!

Brooklea Milk Chocolate & Caramel Light Choc Pots – 64 calories per pot
If there’s anything we love more than a chocolate treat, it’s a good bargain! Aldi’s given us both with these dreamy Brooklea Light Choc Pots. While we’ve gone for the chocolate and caramel 4-pack, you can get milk chocolate pots too (and they’re also 64 calories pot!). Picking a flavour just depends on how indulgent you’re feeling!
Speaking of light, chocolate-y goodness, loading up your tupperware with a batch of our Chocolate Brownies is never a bad idea. A simple, slimming-friendly bake to rustle up, each of our fluffy yet gooey-in-the-middle squares comes in at just 59 calories.
Curbing your sweet cravings has never been so fuss-free (and delicious!)…

White Rabbit Porcini Mushroom Risotto – 339 calories per serving
Bursting with plant-based cheesiness, this White Rabbit Porcini Mushroom Risotto cuts out all of the time-consuming prep that can come with cooking a risotto. Ready in under 20 minutes, simply boil and stir the risotto rice until fluffy. Each cheesy, mushroom-loaded bowlful tastes best with a drizzle of oil or a sprinkling of Parmesan (just be sure to use a plant-based Parmesan alternative, if you’re keeping the whole meal vegan-friendly!).
Homemade risottos don’t come much more indulgent and effortless than our Creamy Cheesy Garlic Mushroom Risotto. Comfort in a bowl, our recipe cuts out the fuss of constant stirring by fluffing up our rice in the oven instead. Winner!

Iceland Crispy Rice Coated Chicken Breast Quarter Pounders – 276 calories per quarter pounder
We can’t say no to the satisfaction of biting into a crispy chicken burger, so we had to take home these Crispy Rice Coated Chicken Breast Quarter Pounders from Iceland. Coated in a crunchy rice flake batter, pile them high on a wholemeal bun with your favourite burger toppings (you could even rustle them up in an air fryer for extra crunchiness!).
Seriously crispy and seasoned with our version of the Colonel’s signature recipe, these KFC Zinger Burger Fakeaway are guaranteed to go down a storm. We’ve used crushed Doritos Chilli Heatwave tortilla chips as a slimming-friendly alternative to deep-fried breadcrumbs.
Not only do they save calories, they also make it easy to have some fun with seasoning – why not try crushing different Dorito chips for a whole new flavour finish?

Oumph! Crispy Buffalo Bites – 295 calories per serving

Rather than chicken, they’re made with vegan-friendly soya protein, so anyone around the table can enjoy every fuss-free bite. Marinated in a moreish buffalo glaze, we bet no one will tell the difference!

Serve it up with a fresh, leafy green salad for a light, vibrant lunch.

It’s no secret that hash browns take a cooked breakfast up a notch, but these Heinz Beanz Filled Hash Browns are on a whole new level. Combining two of the best bits from a Full English cooked brekkie, each hash brown parcel comes filled with classic tomatoey Heinz beans. You need to try an oozy, crispy forkful on your next Sunday morning plateful!
Putting a spicy, slimming-friendly twist on a breakfast time staple, our BBQ Beans are one of our favourite toast toppings.
By swapping out baked beans for Haricot beans and a clever combination of herbs and spices, we’ve kept the calories nice and low without losing flavour. You can always add extra chilli powder if you wake up feeling brave enough!

Lotus Biscoff Ice Cream Sticks – 310 calories per ice cream
Calling all Biscoff lovers! Iceland is delivering the goods yet again with these Biscoff Ice Cream Sticks (there’s Lotus to celebrate!). Coated in a layer of Belgian chocolate and crunchy Lotus Biscoff pieces, each mouthful comes with a velvety dairy ice cream filling and a layer of Lotus Biscoff spread. Basically, they’re to die for (and well worth every calorie at 310 per pop!).
If you’ve not tried a scoop of our Biscoff Swirl Ice Cream yet, you need to grab a bowl and spoon. A dessert that tastes this good has no right to be so simple for only 214 calories per bowlful. Don’t mind if we do!
Pop it in the freezer for a Biscoff treat that’ll curb those spiced caramel cravings at a moment’s notice.

NEW Aldi Super 6 Fruit and Veg Selection
We love Aldi’s Super 6 selection of fresh fruit and veggies! Each fortnight they choose six different items for a special offer where you can pick them up for much less than the normal price. Here’s the rundown of this week’s offering, along with some recipe ideas for you.
Carrots – 41 calories per 100g
Whether they’re with a roast dinner, chopped and simmered in a casserole or enjoyed raw as a snack, carrots are a staple vegetable in any weekly meal plan. Roasted, boiled or grated into a fresh, crispy salad, they never disappoint.
Soup flask at the ready! Autumn is on its way and the temperature is cooling down, and that can only mean comforting soups and stews are the way to go! Our nutritious Carrot, Orange and Thyme Soup will warm you up by the spoonful for only 117 calories per portion.
Tenderstem Broccoli – 40 calories per 100g
With a more delicate flavour than regular broccoli, it’s easy to see why tenderstem broccoli is so popular and so versatile. It’s got a lovely, slightly nutty taste and a perfect crunch. You can cook and eat the whole stalk, meaning far less food waste. Almost any meal can be made a bit greener with a serving of this yummy veggie on the side!
It pairs perfectly with fish, so we’ll be adding a few stems onto the side of our Chilli and Lime Baked Salmon this week…
Celery – 14 calories per 100g
Low in calories and perfect for snacking, there’s nothing boring about celery when you get creative. Chop it up and cook it in soups, stews and sauces for extra flavour, or enjoy it dipped into a tasty pot of hummus.
We enjoy it most in our vibrant Chicken Waldorf Salad. Chunks of celery add a super satisfying crunch to the sharp, sweet fruits and creamy dressing. Such a dreamy combination!
Avocado – 160 calories per 100g
There’s a good reason avocado is considered a superfood; their fleshy green fillings are packed with nutrients, vitamins and minerals. With a creamy, mashed texture and mild flavour, they make a tasty toast spread that beats butter by a landslide!
Avocado is a key ingredient for our Cheesy Avocado Salsa Wedges. Topped with melty cheese, fresh salsa and coated in a fiery spice mix, we can’t say no to this moreish Mexican-inspired side dish!
Brown Onions – 40 calories per 100g
Behind every tasty recipe, there’s usually an onion (or two!). Chopped finely into curries, stews, pies, soups, they add an irresistible savoury base to any dish they’re a part of. Brown onions are slightly milder than white onions, so they’re a good way to go if you’re after a less overwhelming onion flavour.
A vegetarian sensation, our Homity Pie is the definition of simple comfort. By combining leeks, potatoes and onion, this budget-friendly pie comes big on flavour for next to no effort. Ideal!
Figs – 74 calories per 100g
We love figs! An ideal dessert fruit with a unique sweetness, they’re especially delicious paired with fat-free yoghurt or reduced-fat cheeses. We pop them in the pan with maple syrup and cinnamon to create our delightfully autumnal Syrup Cinnamon Figs with Greek Yoghurt. A deliciously sweet and sticky dish you can have ready in a matter of minutes, they’re an ideal after-dinner treat!
