Baked beans are an absolute staple food for so many of us, and our homemade alternative has a smoky BBQ twist. Full of fibre to keep you feeling fuller for longer, you can use them just like regular baked beans. Try them on toast, piled on top of a baked potato or alongside your favourite fakeaway.

Hints & Tips

Below we added some of our communities most common hints and tips. We hope you find them useful.

Try adding a little chilli powder or hot sauce for some heat. Don't confuse onion granules for onion salt - the dish will be far too salty if you use the wrong one! The same applies to garlic granules.

Swap This

You could use a regular tin of baked beans instead of haricot beans in this dish. Just reduce the passata to 250g and leave out the sweetener. Remember it will increase the calories a little to 204 kcal per serving.

We love hearing from you, submit any tips or tricks you have for this dish and we’ll review them and add some of them here. Just click here.

‘So delicious. Both bean recipes are really easy to make. I have portioned them up to take out of the freezer for a quick snack or meal accompaniment.’
