I do LOVE cocktails, especially fruity ones! I’m the sort of person who when on a night out, works her way through the cocktail list. That’s me, 1000%!

When I asked in our Facebook group for requests for cocktails, this 3.5 Syn Strawberry Daiquiri came out on top by far. It seems speed food in cocktails is popular.

This 3.5 Syn Strawberry Daiquiri is one of those cocktails that’s a slush, and it is the perfect treat on a hot, sunny day. You could even make these into ice lollies – just make sure not to let the kids at them!

How do you work out the Syns in this 3.5 Syn Strawberry Daiquiri?

We’ve worked this 3.5 Syn Strawberry Daiquiri out based on their being enough for 2 glasses. Having said that, you can get as many or as few portions as you want from this recipe, just remember to adjust the Syns accordingly!

If you want to have it all to yourself, then it’ll be 7 Syns for the lot.

This 3.5 Syn Strawberry Daiquiri uses 150g of puréed strawberries. As we know all puréed or cooked fruit should be synned which is why we’ve added 2 Syns on for the strawberries.

  1. Add the blitzed strawberries to a tub suitable for freezing
  2. Stir in the Bacardi, lime juice and strawberry flavoured water
  3. Place in the freezer for 2 hours
  4. Remove from the freezer and break up the ice with a fork until you have a tub of slush
  5. Divide the slush equally between 2 martini glasses then top up with the pink lemonade

This recipe can be frozen, but please remember to do the following;

- Freeze it as soon as it is cold enough.
- Use a container or bag that is suitable for freezing.
- Defrost thoroughly before reheating (you can use the defrost setting on your microwave.)
- Make sure it is piping hot all the way through before serving.

- Stock cubes
- Soy sauce - substitute with Tamari.
- Worcestershire sauce - substitute with Henderson’s Relish.
- Etc.
