We decided to use Danish Blue in this recipe as it has slightly lower syn value than other blue cheeses. However, if you prefer to use something like Stilton or Shropshire Blue you can, just adjust the syns accordingly. Danish Blue works out at 7 syns for 38g.

When you use a 4cm star shaped cutter then these work out at 0.5 syns. 24 stars of wholemeal bread 2mm thick is approx 50g – 5 syns (we’re working on the proviso that 60g of wholemeal bread = 6 syns)

We use one of these nifty rolling pins from Joseph Joseph, which you can find on Amazon.

When ever we need to replace oil to cook things in the oven we use Frylight. Perfect for everyday frying and cooking, it delivers exactly one calorie per spray, which makes it Syn free!Low Syn Whipped Blue Cheese Crostini - Slimming World
