Obviously, this recipe is based on the classic sandwich filling, but we wanted to create something that gave all the flavour of the BLT sandwich but could be prepared as a snack or canapé for a special occasion.

These slimming friendly BLT Bites are perfect when you just fancy something to nibble on, plus removing the bread and mayonnaise has made them super low in calories and Points too!

You can make these BLT Bites in advance and leave them in the fridge to pick at through the day, or take them out altogether for a buffet table at a party, or even to take for a picnic!

Take a cocktail stick, thread on one half of a tomato.

Step 2

Add some lettuce, then a couple of squares of bacon. Add more lettuce, then bacon and finally the other half of tomato.

Step 3

Set aside on a serving tray, then make up the remaining sticks.

How do you know when these BLT Bites are cooked?

Cook the bacon until it is crispy around the edges this should take 4-5 minutes

How long can you keep these BLT Bites in the fridge?

Once you’ve put them out, ideally you should eat it within 4 hours.

If you allow any leftovers to cool, make sure to refrigerate in a container with a lid and chill. You can keep leftovers of BLT Bites in the fridge for approximately 3 days or so.

  • 12 cherry tomatoes cut in half
  • 6 bacon medallions cooked and cut into squares
  • a few leaves of iceberg lettuce
