The countdown to Halloween is on! We’re officially in October now, so we couldn’t resist picking up these Sainsbury’s Brain Filled Bourbons to try with a cuppa.

Instead of the traditional cocoa filling, these chocolate biscuits are sandwiched together with a tangy-sweet berry cream. That’s as spooky as it gets, which means there’s no reason to wait for 31st October to (trick or) treat yourself!

If you’re ready to get into the spirit of the season, pencil in this Halloween Ghost Toast for a frightfully tasty breakfast. You can create your own design on the topping, or leave it plain and just enjoy the sweet cinnamon flavours.

Jacob’s Prawn Cocktail Flavour Crinklys – 105 calories per pack

Jacob's Prawn Cocktail Flavour Crinklys featured in Pinch of Nom's Weekly Pinch of Shopping with the calorie count printed above (105 calories per pack).

Cheese and onion Crinklys have been around for a while, as have the salt and vinegar ones, but these Jacob’s Prawn Cocktail Flavour Crinklys are bursting with new flavour!

The crunchy little bites are perfect for savoury snackers, especially since each pack works out at just 105 calories. There’s even more good news though…we’ve also spotted Chilli Beef flavoured Crinklys on the shelves at Asda.

We’ll be adding this snack into our packed lunches next week, alongside one of our glorious, golden Scotch Eggs. Far more slimming friendly than a shop-bought version, they’re tasty whether you serve them hot or cold!

Pinch of Nom's slimming-friendly scotch eggs are served on a pastel pink plate, set on a green and blue striped tablecloth. One of the scotch eggs has been cut in half, revealing the yellow yolk in the centre. A side salad is served with the 2 eggs.

Jacob’s Prawn Cocktail Flavour Crinklys are available from Asda, priced at £1.25 for a pack of 6.

Sainsbury’s Apple Crumble Cheesecake – 279 calories per 1/6 cheesecake

Sainsbury's Apple Crumble Cheesecake featured in Pinch of Nom's Weekly Pinch of Shopping with the calorie count printed above (279 calories per 1/6 cheesecake).

It’s the time of year to get all cosy, put the kettle on and put your feet up with a slice of this Sainsbury’s Apple Crumble Cheesecake. The baked vanilla cheesecake has a crunchy digestive biscuit base, with a sweet Bramley apple glaze.

To round it all off, crushed caramelised biscuits have been sprinkled all over the top, for a moreish taste of apple crumble in every bite.

If you’re after a lighter pudding, save some space for a bowlful of our homemade Apple Crumble after dinner. It tastes just as indulgent, but it’s only 75 calories per serving!

Four ramekins are filled with individual portions of Pinch of Nom's Apple Crumble recipe, with teaspoons waiting to tuck in. The oat surface of one of the crumbles is partially eaten to reveal the juicy apple filling. Two of the crumbles are topped with a dollop of low-fat Greek yoghurt.

Sainsbury’s Apple Crumble Cheesecake is available from Sainsbury’s, priced at £5.00 (or £3.30 with a Nectar card).

Iceland Black Pudding Slices – 143 calories per slice

Iceland Black Pudding Slices featured in Pinch of Nom's Weekly Pinch of Shopping with the calorie count printed above (143 calories per slice).

For some people, a cooked breakfast isn’t complete without a slice of black pudding! To make things more convenient, these Black Pudding Slices from Iceland cook straight from frozen.

Ideal if you often find the leftovers go to waste, now you can cook just a single slice, as and when you fancy it. You can even pop one into the air fryer for 10 minutes, then tuck right in!

Why not add a slice on the side of our Air Fryer Full English? It already has bacon, sausage, eggs, mushrooms, tomatoes and baked beans…but there’s room on your plate for a little bit of black pud too!

A breakfast table is set with a cup of tea, pot of ketchup, knife and fork and a plate of Pinch of Nom's Air Fryer Full English. On the white plate are scrambled eggs, baked beans, tomatoes, mushrooms, a sausage and bacon medallions.

Iceland Black Pudding Slices are available from Iceland, priced at £1.00 for a pack of 4.

Tesco Traybake Chicken Korma – 284 calories per 1/4 pack

Tesco Traybake Chicken Korma featured in Pinch of Nom's Weekly Pinch of Shopping with the calorie count printed above (284 calories per 1/4 pack).

If our upcoming All in One cookbook didn’t give it away, we love a one-pan meal! This Tesco Traybake Chicken Korma is zero effort on a busy day – it’s ready to go straight into the oven for 35 minutes.

By the time it’s finished bubbling away, the chicken and sweet potatoes will be lovely and tender, coated in a mild, creamy and coconutty sauce. Add some rice and any of your favourite Indian-style side dishes for an easy-peasy fakeaway feast

Why bother cooking the rice separately? Our All in One Baked Korma recipe only takes 45 minutes to make from scratch, and even the rice goes into the pot. Say goodbye to piles and piles of washing-up!

Pinch of Nom's All in One Baked Korma is served from a large red oven dish, onto a red and white plate set nearby. On a yellow chopping board the serving spoon has been place next to chopped herbs for garnishing.

Tesco Traybake Chicken Korma is available from Tesco, priced at £6.00 (or £5.25 with a Clubcard).

Iceland Pitta Sticks – 260 calories per 100g

Iceland Pitta Sticks featured in Pinch of Nom's Weekly Pinch of Shopping with the calorie count printed above (260 calories per 100g).

These handy little Pitta Sticks from Iceland are perfect for lunchboxes, buffets and picky teas. They can be popped into the toaster or warmed under the grill, before being dunked into your favourite dips, sauces or soups.

Soft and fluffy, the white pitta will go down a treat on a charcuterie board, especially if you whip up our Chickpea Tikka Dip

A nice change from shop-bought hummus, we’ve given our creamy dip a kick of heat by adding in a tablespoon of curry powder. You can use a mild version, or choose hot if you love the fiery flavour!

Pinch of Nom's Chickpea Tikka Dip is served in a small bowl garnished with spring onions, alongside a selection of chopped vegetables waiting to be dipped – celery, cucumber, radishes, peppers and tomatoes are laid out on the same serving platter.

Iceland Pitta Sticks are available from Iceland, priced at £1.00 for a pack of 14.

Iceland Double Crunch Prawns Crispy Tempura – 173 calories per 1/3 pack (air-fried)

Iceland Double Crunch Prawns Crispy Tempura featured in Pinch of Nom's Weekly Pinch of Shopping with the calorie count printed above (173 calories per 1/3 pack).

Next time you need a starter for your fakeaway night, you’ll be glad to find these Iceland Double Crunch Prawns Crispy Tempura stashed in your freezer.

The juicy prawns are coated in a light tempura batter that gets oh-so-crispy as it cooks. Pop them in the oven, or throw them into your air fryer basket for 12-14 minutes. When they’re crunchy and golden, that’s your cue to take them for a dip in our lower-calorie Sweet Chilli Sauce

Ready in just 10 minutes, for 13 calories per serving, we reckon it beats any supermarket version! Best of all, you’re in charge of the chilli, so it can be as subtle or as full on as you like. Pour it into an airtight jar and it’ll be good in the fridge for up to a week.

Pinch of Nom's Sweet Chilli Sauce is served in a saucepan with a ladle waiting to scoop it into two jars that are already half-filled.

Mighty Gingerbread Oat Barista – 57 calories per 100ml

Mighty Gingerbread Oat Barista featured in Pinch of Nom's Weekly Pinch of Shopping with the calorie count printed above (57 calories per 100ml).

It’s never too early for gingerbread, so there was no way we could walk past this Mighty Gingerbread Oat Barista when we spotted it this week!

Crafted especially for coffee lovers, a splash in your frothy cappuccino or a good glug in your latte will add a wholesome hint of spiced gingerbread. Free from dairy and nuts, it’s a perfect taste of the season, for everyone to enjoy.

If coffee’s not your cup of tea, how about a warming mug of Mexican Hot Chocolate instead? We’ve kept the spices nice and mellow, but you can add a pinch more chilli if you want to take things up a notch or two. There’s nothing better on a chilly evening!

(You’ll need to flick to page 268-269 of Pinch of Nom: Comfort Food for the full recipe).

Mr. Kipling Caramelised Biscuit Whirls – 147 calories per whirl

Mr. Kipling Caramelised Biscuit Whirls featured in Pinch of Nom's Weekly Pinch of Shopping with the calorie count printed above (147 calories per whirl).

We can’t resist a treat from Mr Kipling, particularly when it looks as tasty as these Caramelised Biscuit Whirls. The buttery swirls taste just like Biscoff, with a layer of gooey caramel in the centre for good measure.

They’re a tiny bit indulgent at 147 calories each, but it’s well worth it to enjoy those decadent flavours with your mid-afternoon cuppa.

Our own Biscoff Swirls are pastries, rather than biscuits, and they’re flaky, caramel-flavoured bites of heaven! Thanks to a pack of ready-rolled light pastry, they’re baked to perfection in just 20 minutes, for only 89 calories per swirl.

You can find loads of other irresistible Biscoff recipes here (warning…you’ll want to try them all!).
