Hints & Tips

Below we added some of our communities most common hints and tips. We hope you find them useful.

To cook the fries in an air fryer, preheat the air fryer to 190ºC, spray the fries with plenty of low-calorie cooking spray and add them to the fryer.Set the timer for 25 minutes and cook until golden brown, shaking halfway through for an even colour.

Swap This

Swap the beef mince for pork mince. To make the dish dairy free, swap Cheddar for a dairy-free alternative.

Make your chips chunky if you prefer
Make the bolognese in advance and prepare your chips when ready for the meal
Yummy, added some chilli flakes for some kick 😋
Didn't have any passata so added extra tomato puree and ketchup, wee bit of sweetener and some chilli flakes for a bit of a kick... other than that, followed recipe to tea
Save time
I found it easier to make the fries first (peeling/slicing/seasoning) and get them in the oven whilst you make the Bolognese
If you don’t have a stock pot a tablespoon of Marmite works just as good

Can the bolognaise cheese fries be frozen?

Hi Laura, Yes they can be frozen we think it’s best to freeze the Bolognese and potato fries separately as they may go soggy if frozen together. Hope that helps!
