Hints & Tips

Below we added some of our communities most common hints and tips. We hope you find them useful.

If you have a lot of sauce left over, save it in the fridge or freeze it. You can use it as a BBQ sauce with other dishes.

Will make this again
Was very nice, I used Pepsi max cherry as I didn't have cola. I would double up on the seasoning next time just to add more flavour
This is a delight!
Made this with chicken instead of pork- 4 large chicken breasts in the instant pot for 15 minutes. Beautiful!
A family favourite, will definitely be making it again
We used Dr Pepper zero instead but the taste was still great. Clean plates all around.

‘Easy to make, put all ingredients in the dish and leave in the oven. Pork was so tender and sauce very tasty. I made the mistake of adding the balsamic vinegar and tomato puree to the dish to go in the oven but it didn't matter, was still as tasty.’

Hi, I’m going to make this recipe but in my food delivery they substituted my pork shoulder for loin steaks, will this still work with loin steaks? Thanks

Hi Louise, I’m afraid pork loin steaks aren’t suitable for this recipe as they won’t break down into shreds like pork shoulder. They are a cut of meat that requires a quick rather than a long slow cooking time. Hope that helps.
