A tasty alternative to a classic steak, this quick Thai recipe combines glazed meat and a saucy salsa to make a delicious dish. Traditionally, this steak would be spicy enough to induce tears, hence the name. However, you can make it as hot as you like by adjusting the amount of chilli in the dressing. Or, you could swap the red chillies for half a red bell pepper if you like. The dressing is very similar to a chimichurri sauce in texture, made with fresh herbs.

What an amazing combination of flavours
I used fillet steak but a small cut so the same calories overall. I also cooked it on a griddle pan. Served with roasted beetroot and red onion, with a side salad and I can honestly say it was the best steak we’ve ever had.
This recipe was lovely, can be quite spicy though.
This would be lovely paired with a nice salad and stuffed peppers.
