Hints & Tips

Below we added some of our communities most common hints and tips. We hope you find them useful.

NEW TIP
Make sure you have everything to hand for the sauce, it all comes together quite quickly It's a lovely flavoursome dish, on the table in around 45 minutes from starting prep to putting on the table 😋
NEW TIP
Ring, ring!
Separate the majority of the leek rings before you start to cook. It’ll make the start of cooking so much easier. It’ll also save your fingers too!
Absolutely gorgeous, so tasty and quick.
I halved the recipe as it’s only me, so one for the freezer. Worked out perfectly. Think I will make just a batch of just the sauce so I have it ready for other dinners.
Just make sauce and have with different protein
Swapped the chicken for pork chops find that by making the sauce on its own and freezing can add to any other protein I think it’s great with chicken, pork and steak yummy
Bootiful! Will become a favourite
I cooked all of this on the hob to save energy and didn't use as much stock as recipe. It all worked very well and was so tasty. Served this with macaroni.
Made it creamier
I added more soft cheese and bought the low fat garlic and herb one from Aldi.
Swap the Leeks
I do not like leeks so I swapped the leeks for mushrooms. I do all of my cooking from these books and I do all of my meals as meal prep.
Made the sauce on its own and portioned out to freeze
Made sauce separately so that I could add to whatever protein I fancied at the time. Goes great with a nice steak as well as pork - super yummy!
