Hints & Tips

Below we added some of our communities most common hints and tips. We hope you find them useful.

You could use meat with bones for added flavour - just make sure the skin is removed before cooking and all the bones are removed after it's cooked! If you want a thicker soup, use 1 litre of stock in the slow-cooker and hob-top methods, or reduce the soup over the heat at the end of cooking (removing the slow-cooker lid for the last hour of cooking). If you want it thinner, just add a little splash of water at a time and stir until it's to your liking.

Swap This

We recommend using chicken thighs in this soup as we think the flavour is better, but you could use a large chicken breast instead if you prefer - it'll be totally delicious either way!

So easy to mak, delicious, hearty soup.
With the dark nights and weather turning colder this creamy chicken soup is just the thing, a true comfort food. I added sweetcorn just because I had some in the freezer. Its delish 🤤
Easy to make. I used left over chicken from our roast
Super simple and delicious!
This soup was so easy to make, I followed the recipe exactly and it was delicious. There really isn't anything that needs changing in this recipe and I can't wait to have it again.
Really easy to make. One pot cooking for a tasty soup.
I used 3 small chicken thighs which has given lots of flavour. I had the rest of the ingredients in the cupboard/fridge. Cheap and filling. 4 generous portions.

Hey Paula, yes this soup can be frozen. Any recipe that can be frozen in our books has an F symbol above the ingredients list. Hope that helps!
