Rich with paprika and tomatoes, this goulash is simmered over a low heat for a long period of time – you can use the oven or a slow cooker with similar effect – and the meat becomes deliciously tender and releases its flavour into the sauce. Serve alongside our Easy Pilaf Rice with Chickpeas (page 209) and you're onto a winning, filling and super-tasty Hungarian feast!

Lovely, smokey stew
I used passata instead of chopped tomatoes and used 2 tablespoons of smokey paprika
A beautiful, warming dinner
Serve inside a sourdough loaf bowl for extra authenticity!
If you don’t have a beef stockpot to hand it works equally well with two beef stock cubes. I made it in my electric pressure cooker but there are lots of ways to make it if you don’t have a pressure cooker! Really yummy & easy to make recipe !
