With Squash Pizza Slices, you can have deliciously cheesy, slimming friendly pizza slices with a surprise ingredient: butternut squash!
Shaped into triangles and smothered in a garlicky tomato sauce, butternut squash makes the ideal pizza base instead of dough; it’s low in calories and Points, and as long as you cut it into the right thickness it maintains the shape perfectly.
Packed full of nutrients, this recipe is a great way of getting extra veggies into your family’s diet, and Squash Pizza Slices are really fun to eat too! You can easily adapt them to suit different diets too, like swapping the cheese for a vegan version to make them dairy free.

How many calories are in these Squash Pizza Slices?

Step 1
Preheat the oven to 190ºC.
Step 2
Spray the baking tray with a little low calorie cooking spray and use to grease the tray.
Step 3
Cut the slices of butternut squash into 6 triangles, approx. 10 x 7 cm each. Cut the triangles from the part of the squash slice without the seeds.
Step 4
Place the squash slices on the greased baking tray in the shape of a pizza.
Step 5
Spray the squash slices with low calorie cooking spray.
Step 6
Place in the oven for 15 – 20 minutes, or until mostly tender. Some areas may be a little firmer than others at this point. Remove from the oven.
Step 7
Place the tomato puree, garlic granules and salt and pepper in a small bowl. Mix well.
Step 8
Spread the tomato puree mixture over the squash triangles.
Step 9
Sprinkle with Cheddar cheese, then place a slice of mozzarella on top of each triangle.
Step 10
Place one cherry tomato slice on top of each triangle and sprinkle with oregano.
Step 11
Place in the oven for 15 – 20 minutes or until bubbling and golden on top.
Step 12
Remove from the oven and sprinkle with chopped basil.

How do you know when Squash Pizza Slices are cooked?
You should cook these Squash Pizza Slices until the cheese is golden and bubbling. The squash should be cooked but not too soft, this will take around 15-20 minutes.
Standard advice here in the UK is to cook food until it has reached 70°C and stayed at that temperature for 2 minutes. This is to keep your family safe.

This is so amazing. When I order dominoes I always add ketchup but this didn’t need it. It’s moist honeyyy. Also, it’s actually got that pizza taste to it without the guilt afterwards. SOLLLDD!
