Treacle Sponge
This oven-baked sponge pudding soaked with sweet, sticky syrup is delicious served with hot custard. What could be better than a slimming-friendly pud that's just as good as the one we enjoyed as children? Using a golden syrup alternative reduces the calories significantly, but you still get that recognisable texture and treacle flavour!
Hints & Tips
Below we added some of our communities most common hints and tips. We hope you find them useful.
We used a golden syrup alternative fruit syrup made by Sweet Freedom as it contains fewer calories than golden syrup. You can find it in most larger supermarkets. Be sure to use a white granulated sweetener that has the same texture and weight as sugar.
