Homemade sausage meatballs and a sneaky dollop of Marmite really take this speedy pasta bake to the next level. Love it or hate it, the deep, savoury flavour of Marmite works so well in this recipe, melting into the creamy, cheesy sauce. Ideal for a busy midweek day, it's on the table in just over half an hour, and it's guaranteed to be a crowd-pleaser. Serve with a simple side salad for a really hearty, easy dinner.

Hints & Tips

Below we added some of our communities most common hints and tips. We hope you find them useful.

NEW TIP
The marmite provides quite a unique flavour to the dish.
I'd use the marmite sparingly as it can be quite salty in taste, next time I'll only use two teaspoons.
Vegetarian meatball tweak
I used Linda McCartney Vegetarian sausages to make the meatballs. Just defrost a packet and quarter each sausage and roll into a ball. I slightly lowered the cooking time to reflect it.
Creamy Marmite everything
Lovely meal, however I prefer to increase the stock to make the dish a little more saucy.

‘A true marmite moment, but I encourage you to give it a try, the flavours are definitely worth it. Instead of squeezing out the meat, maybe just buy some prepacked sausage meat, you can then freeze what you don't use for next time.’
