These Apple Strudels are our slimming friendly version of the popular Austrian dessert. Traditionally, Strudel is made using a Strudel dough; using lots of flour and oil, and in some cases, using filo pastry. However, these ingredients aren’t the best option when trying to slim down, so this recipe uses a Weight Watchers Wrap! It might sound a bit strange, but it really works.
There is mincemeat in these Apple Strudels, which makes them feel a little bit festive, but they are a great treat to enjoy at any time of year – especially in early Autumn with the warming spice of a Pumpkin Spiced Latte.
What diets is this Apple Strudel recipe suitable for?
This Apple Strudel recipe is suitable for vegetarian and dairy free diets.
It can be made gluten free as long as you swap out the following ingredients for gluten free versions;
- Weight Watchers Wrap
- Mincemeat
Please make sure to double or triple check all of your ingredients if you’re cooking for people with allergies.

Should the outside of the strudel be brushed with egg as well, after folding the lattice, before cooking?

Thankyou ????

Sometimes if the wrap is a little dry this can happen. Either heat the tortilla for a few seconds in the microwave to soften them before assembling, or brush some egg on and leave for a minute to soften them up 🙂

Hi, they look great. You didn’t answer the sweetener question above. 🙂
Beverley JonesSaturday 30th September 2017
Hi I’m just about to make these apple strudels but I’m a bit unsure as to how much cinnamon to use as it does mention it in the recipe. Also, the recipe calls for a pinch of sweetener but when I’ve read how to cook them it says to use a couple of teaspoon of sweetener. Can you clarify please.
Thanks. ????
