We've added bacon and leeks to this comfort-food favourite to give it an extra twist. Using skimmed milk, reduced-fat spread and reduced-fat cheese means that we keep the calories down without compromising on that classic, cheesy flavour. Using strong mature reduced-fat Cheddar really boosts the cheesiness!

How to Batch

Cool within 2 hours of cooking, then divide the cooked recipe into individual servings and freeze immediately.

Swap this

Swap the bacon for cooked ham, and try using different small pasta shapes, such as penne.

So simple to cook
I like to dry fry the bacon until it has gone a bit crispy before adding it to the already fried leeks
Such an easy dish to prepare and so tasty
Had bacon to use up so this is a firm favourite. I didn’t have leeks so used a red onion an added some chicken, so good
Lovely and cheesy!
I used a tiny bit more cornflour as my sauce didn’t want to thicken (only about a teaspoon) and added an extra half a leek as had one to use.
Such a simple meal to make
I was naughty and used brown bread crumbs for my topping with cheese. Also I used smoked bacon
Love this recipe its absolutely lovely made this for my mama
Love this but I did add cherry tomatoes on and a little bit of garlic bread and cheese. Soooooo good. I have some over, will box up and freeze for another day; made for my parents they loved it. My husband’s favourite, he's having some when he’s home.
Vegan Alternative
I used plant based bacon pieces and dairy free alternatives for the cheese sauce and this tasted amazing! Such a filling, comfort food whilst being healthy too! (Nutritional value will change with alternative products)
