This twist on a comfort food favourite might sound unusual, but cheese, curry and mashed potatoes all in one dish means that this is pretty much the dream dinner when you want something warm and comforting. The smell when it’s bubbling in the oven is too good to be true! Don’t skip the marinating as it really bumps up the flavour.

Make it Veggie

For a vegetarian curry pie, swap the chicken for quorn fillets.

Avoid using a metal bowl and utensils when preparing the marinated chicken. The marinade may cause a reaction with the metal and give the chicken a metallic taste. Use a low fat cream cheese rather than a fat free one, as the sauce will freeze and reheat better if you planning to batch cook the pie.

Easy to make,
Froze the chicken curry sauce in batches, then taken out and finished off with potatoes when needed

Easy to follow recipe, my oven dish was too shallow so my sauce over flowed when I added the mash - note to self deeper dish next time! Family loved it so will definitely be doing this again
