A little bit of maple syrup goes a long way in this indulgent-tasting recipe! The sweet and smoky syrup is the perfect match for savoury, salty bacon and juicy chicken. It all comes together into a rich, creamy dish that we love to pair with the fresh flavour of steamed green veggies.

Hints & Tips

Below we added some of our communities most common hints and tips. We hope you find them useful.

This dish is also great with mushrooms or peppers added. If it take a long time to reduce your stock, you may not have the heat high enough or the pan you are using may not be wide enough. Shallower, wider pans like frying pans have a bigger surface area, so the liquid can reduce faster. If you are using a deeper pan like a saucepan, add the stock cube directly to the chicken and add only half the water, adding more later if you need to.

Don't wait to try this dish! You won't be disappointed!
I found getting all the ingredients ready before starting the recipe really helped, that way all my timings were spot on!
Added some penne pasta to it to feed the whole family
A lovely taste
Quick to make, and tasty to boot. Add an extra 50ml of stock if you prefer a runnier sauce to have with rice.
Simply yummy!
A beautiful flavour! Not sure I’d use the full 2tbsp of Maple Syrup next time, but there will DEFINITELY be a next time!!
Lovely and flavoursome!
I halfed the recipes as there is only two of us as the recipe serves 4, there was still enough left for one of us to have lunch! I also added mushrooms to the recipe and served with rice instead of vegetables.
Easy to make and so creamy.
I'm not a big lover of maple syrup but it's not over powering at all, I found it just adds a lovely sweetness to the creamy dish. Would be lovely with pasta as I found it similar to carbonara or as a pie filling.
Absolutely delicious!
This is a really tasty meal! I might try topping it with reduced fat puff pastry and making it into a delicious pie!
Easy recipe. Turned out as expected
Added mushrooms
