Now, as pepperoni is quite high in calories we will be limiting the amount we use to 9g. A handy little trick for cutting out the pepperoni into small rounds to give the pizza that authentic look, is to use the end of a plain piping nozzle

We’ve also added some Sausages coated in a little paprika. You could have just these and skip the Pepperoni if you wanted to save some calories.

We used 30g of zero fat mozzarella (or you can use 20g of light cheddar if you prefer)  It’s actually pretty tasty, and unlike other “diet” cheeses, melts well too!

Time Saving Tips

There are a few steps to making these, and they do take a while due to the proving of the dough and cooking of the sausage – but it is worth it. I promise.

Time saving tip, cook the sausage & prepare the toppings whilst your waiting for the dough to prove – it will save you a lot of time. Do not put raw sausage on these pizza’s!!

Pizza Base
  1. Make up to packet instructions & allow 30 mins for the dough to prove. We make up the whole pack then weigh out 65g balls of dough - the ones we don't use we freeze
  2. Roll as thin as you can onto a piece of baking parchment - you may need to spray your rolling pin with frylight to prevent sticking
Tomato Sauce
  1. Throw all ingredients into a pan, bring up to the heat then turn down and simmer for 30 minutes stirring often
  2. Once cooked attack with a stick blender, or blitz in a food processor until smooth
  3. Place into a sterilised jar until ready for use. Will least a week in the fridge, or you can freeze it. Perfect for batch booking
Pizza Assembly
  1. After you have rolled out your dough, place the tomato sauce & spread it around
  2. Add the onions and peppers, then sprinkle with 1/3 of the mozzarella
  3. Add the sliced sausage and 1/2 the pepperoni
  4. Sprinkle on the rest of the cheese - make sure to distribute it evenly, then arrange the remaining pepperoni on top
  5. Place in an oven pre-heated to 200°C for 12 - 15 minutes

    I just wanted to make enough for me and my partner rather than freezing the rest

      This recipe makes 1 portion so you can double it to make just enough for you and your partner.

      If you scroll down to the recipe card at the bottom and change the portions from 1 to 2 the ingredients will be automatically calculated for you.

  4. Can I do it by just weighing out the dry Ingredient? As making up the whole packet isn’t needed for just me

    1. Hi!

      If you make up the dough, you can freeze the uncooked dough prior to proving. If you freeze it in the correct portioned balls, you’ll have it all ready to go when you want it!
