These rich and indulgent Nutella Baked Oats feel much naughtier than they actually are and they’re the perfect chocolatey, breakfast treat. If you prefer a drier texture to your baked oats, then we’d recommend using just one egg instead of two – they’ll be absolutely delicious either way!
Not only are our Nutella Baked Oats great for breakfast, but they’re also fantastic when served for dessert. We love ours served with some aerosol cream or even some sweetened, whipped quark.
If you want to make these Nutella Baked Oats ahead of time, then they freeze really well and can be easily defrosted and reheated, which means they’re fab for those busier mornings!

Hi. I only have a 20cm dish. Will it turn out flat or should i add extra ingredients? Thank you.
HollyWednesday 16th February 2022
Hi Laura, you may find that the baked oats turn out a little thin if you dish is larger than the one we used. You could double up the recipe so you’d have an extra portion for another time, this recipe can also be frozen once cooked. Hope that helps!
TraceyTuesday 8th February 2022
Hi,
It says to use fat free natural yoghurt. Can you use fat free greek style plain yoghurt instead?
HollyWednesday 9th February 2022
Hi Tracey, yes you can use Greek yoghurt instead, hope that helps!
ChloeWednesday 5th January 2022
I have doubled the amount of ingredients, does this mean I need to double the cooking time too?
SharonThursday 6th January 2022
Hi Chloe, you will probably need to cook it a little longer but you shouldn’t have to double the cooking time. We would suggest testing it after the stated cooking time and if it’s not done, keep cooking until it is.
AmieTuesday 28th December 2021
Can I leave the eggs pit or use something as a substitute? I am intolerant of eggs. Thanks
SharonFriday 7th January 2022
Hi Amie, the eggs in this recipe are an important ingredient as they will make the mixture set when baked. If you’re intolerant to eggs I would suggest buying some egg replacer powder and use according to the packet instructions. You can buy it from Holland and Barrett, Ocado and Amazon. Hope this helps.

Hi, this may sound like a silly question but I was thinking of batch cooking these taking them to work but they don’t have a microwave can you eat them cold?
HollyMonday 19th July 2021
Hey Hannah, yes the baked oats are totally fine eaten cold. Hope that helps!
ShonaFriday 14th May 2021
Has anyone made these with jimjams chocolate spread?
HollyFriday 14th May 2021
Hey Shona, it should work fine using a different brand of chocolate spread!
JacquelineSunday 21st March 2021
Hi
Could milk be used instead of yogurt.
Thanks
HollyMonday 22nd March 2021
Hey Jacqueline, I’m not sure how successful these baked oats would be using milk as they may be a little runny and not thicken when baked, hope that helps!
CarrenSunday 14th February 2021
I’ve made these and they were lovely and again made them into smaller bits
But the recipe has 2 points purple on ww but it’s actually 4 when you use the ww calculator in the app it’s 2points per teaspoon
HollyMonday 15th February 2021
Hey Carren, I have had a look at this recipe and have altered the WW points accordingly thanks so much for your message!
Rosalind HerbertTuesday 9th February 2021
I’ve doubled the recipe for the baked oats which then make 6 muffins, then I have 2 muffins each day for breakfast. For me this is the right amount for breakfast.
Really love trying different flavours in these. Thanks
HollyWednesday 10th February 2021
Hey Rosalind, that sounds like a great idea making the Nutella Baked Oats into individual portions for an easy grab and go breakfast!
ThomasSunday 7th February 2021
I found the natural yogurt still keeps a that sour taste I’m not to Kean on. Can you recommend anything to substitute it for or would a vanilla muller light yogurt do the trick?
HollyMonday 8th February 2021
Hi Thomas, we would suggest fat free natural yogurt or fat free Greek yogurt for this recipe but muller light should still work okay, just alter the calories accordingly. Hope that helps!
LouiseWednesday 3rd February 2021
Hi,
I’ve just made these but not sure it’s the right consistency.
What should the consistency be like? I followed the recipe & baked for 35 minutes but its come out almost a soggy texture in the middle. Is this right?
Thank you
HollyThursday 4th February 2021
Hi Louise, the baked oats should be thick and have a sort of cake like consistency. You may need to bake a little longer than the suggested timings if your oven runs a little cooler and if you prefer your baked oats to be a lot firmer and dry you can use 1 egg it’s really down to personal preference. Hope that helps!
Rachel BurnsThursday 21st January 2021
Can you use steel cut oatmeal for this? I have loads left from another dish.
LisaFriday 22nd January 2021
Hi Rachel
Steel cut oats have a different texture to standard porridge oats. They absorb liquid differently and take longer to cook, so I think the recipe would need to be altered to get best results from steel cut oats.
LindsayMonday 18th January 2021
Hi!
What can be used instead of granulated sweetener?
Many thanks
HollyTuesday 19th January 2021
Hey Lindsay, you can use caster sugar instead of the sweetener, hope that helps!
Chelsea prosserMonday 18th January 2021
Do you need to use yogurt?
HollyTuesday 19th January 2021
Hi Chelsea, the baked oats won’t really work without yogurt as they will be too dry and may end up a little rubbery with just the egg. Hope that helps!
AmandaMonday 18th January 2021
Love your books love your recipe you are fabulous
HollyTuesday 19th January 2021
Hi Amanda, so glad you are enjoying our recipes! Thanks for your message
grace rowleyMonday 4th January 2021
Hiya!
I have made this delish nutella baked oats, but I put them in seperate cake tins to make several small ones. What would the calories be then if I made 6?
Please helppppp
SharonMonday 4th January 2021
Hi Grace, this recipe serves 1 and contains 540 calories. If you divided the same mixture between 6 small dishes it would mean that each small dish would contain 90 calories. Do hope this helps and we’re so glad you liked the recipe.
TanyaWednesday 16th December 2020
Would Greek style yogurt work well?
SharonThursday 17th December 2020
Hi Tanya, we haven’t tried this recipe using Greek style yogurt but it should work if your yogurt is a similar consistency to natural yogurt.
It’s worth noting that Greek yogurt has had lots of the whey strained out of it to make a very thick yogurt, whereas Greek style yogurt has had alot less whey strained out and is therefore a bit thinner.
So make sure to use Greek style yogurt to give the best chance of success. Thanks for getting in touch with your question and hope you enjoy this recipe.
LisaSaturday 5th December 2020
What kind of Oats did you use? Or can you use?
Instant, Quick cooking, 1 minute, Steel cut ???
LisaMonday 7th December 2020
Hi Lisa
Any standard porridge oats work for this recipe. It may overcook if you use instant oats, although that isn’t something we have tried. Hope this helps
Kerry LambeTuesday 10th November 2020

SharonFriday 13th November 2020

HilaryThursday 24th September 2020
This is more than 6 points on ww blue. Just the oats and the Nutella is 8!
HollyThursday 24th September 2020
Hi Hilary, I have just double checked the Nutella Baked Oats recipe and the points are correct on the page. Have a look at this guide which shows how we work out our nutritional information https://pinchofnom.com/how-to-work-out-calories-and-points-in-a-recipe/
Bobbi PeatMonday 14th September 2020
I added both teaspoons of nutella to mine and turned them into oat bars. They still taste amazing and come in handy for a quick snack or part of breakfast on the go. Absolutely gorgeous. I love them
LisaTuesday 15th September 2020
That sounds like a great idea, Bobbi!
Thanks for the tip!
LouiseMonday 31st August 2020
Could you add protein powder to this?
HollyTuesday 1st September 2020
Hi Louise, it’s not something we have tested for the Nutella Baked Oats. You would need to alter the nutritional information accordingly and you may find you need to add more liquid as it may become quite dry. Here is a link to our guide for working out nutritional information: https://pinchofnom.com/how-to-work-out-calories-and-points-in-a-recipe/
