'Arrabbiata' means 'angry' in Italian, and this pasta dish has this name due to the spicy dried chilli in it. Our version of this classic Italian dish has a rich tomato sauce, with herbs and the all-important red chilli flakes. You can adapt the heat to suit your taste – use a little more or less depending on how 'angry' you like it!

NEW TIP
SIMPLE, EASY & CHEAP
Great meat free meal, cheap and really easy, I used tomatoes with garlic & herbs in which added an extra punch.. Go hard or easy on the chilli 🌶️ to suit your taste
NEW TIP
One of my favourite meat free dishes, the spice heat is easy to alter to suit. Decided to make into a pasta bake, topped with a little grated cheese 😋
Made into a pasta bake
Added mange tout and spinach that were leftover, plus mushrooms, sprinkled with cheese and baked in the oven for 15 minutes and served with a cooked chicken breast
Spice!
Add extra spice, the flavours are lovely!
Simple, tasty, full family winner
We omitted the chilli so children could enjoy and added it at the table. Really simple basic idea. Easy to add in extra veg or meat from the fridge. Not necessary! And actually even tastier the next day cold. Weve been using it for lunches as well!
Quick, easy and filling.
I added some extra mushroom to the recipe and also used chilli and garlic chopped tomatoes and chilli puree for extra spicy’ness. I added a small amount of 50% reduced fat chedder to the top of the dish after cooking.
