This Pork Schnitzel has far fewer calories than the traditional deep-fried version, without compromising on its crunchy crust – ours is a satisfying, crispy coating of panko breadcrumbs. Fresh from the oven or air fryer in under half an hour, why not serve it with a zesty salad or pair with chunky potato wedges for something a little different at dinner time?

Hints & Tips

Below we added some of our communities most common hints and tips. We hope you find them useful.

If your air fryer doesn't have a preheat function, we suggest heating at cooking temperature for a few minutes before cooking your food.

Swap This

You can swap the pork loin steaks for butterflied chicken breasts.

Buy quite thin pork steaks, ours were a bit on the thick side, even after a good bashing with the rolling pin (and my fist 🙄) but very nice 😋
I added a bit of Parmesan to the breadcrumb mix. Was absolutely delicious
Very tasty dish and can be served with multiple sides.
When cooking place on a rack on top of the baking tray. This prevents sticking and helps to crisp all round.
Easy recipe. First time using Panko breadcrumbs.
Was very surprised how flavourful these were. We added a homemade mushroom sauce to make it more like a German Jaeger schnitzel. Beautiful.
Added a bit of cheese to the top then put it under the grill
Made these with chicken as I don't eat pork but they were absolutely amazing really tasty I added a bit of cheese then grilled it to use some calories up, would definitely recommend
Quick and easy and so delicious
I served with dauphinaise potato and veg, delicious and another 3 empty plates
This was loved by the whole family!
I added a few other spices that I like to the pork rub mixture before I covered them in breadcrumbs. Delicious!

    of black pepper,
    breadcrumbs,

Hello I made this and it was absolutely divine. Thank you for sharing your recipes. The only thing I would say is you need to add the nutritional values ie fat, saturates, sugars, protein. If you could provide me them for this I’d be ever so grateful as it is a regular fave.

    Hi Claire.
So glad you enjoy the recipe!
If you go to the back of the book, just before the index, there is a table which gives the full nutritional values of all the recipes. Enjoy!

First recipe from the new Enjoy book. Made the Pork Schnitzel recipe using chicken breast flattened with a rolling pin in a piece of cling film. 2 chicken breasts but kept the spices and panko breadcrumbs the same. Cooked in the air fryer for about 20 minutes turning over half way through. A lovely tea served with little potatoes, steamed broccoli and green beans. Will definitely have this one again.
