We adore creating slimming-friendly versions of classic British dishes, and you can’t get much more classic than a Steak and Kidney Pie. Say goodbye to the usual calorie-laden pastry topping – our light filo pastry is just as crisp and satisfying. Delicious gravied beef, kidneys, mushrooms and onions will feed the whole family – just serve creamy mash on the side.

Hints & Tips

Below we added some of our communities most common hints and tips. We hope you find them useful.

We used lamb kidneys, but any type will be fine. If they are covered with a membrane, make a cut with a small sharp knife, peel the membrane away and discard (most kidneys from supermarkets will already have the membrane removed).

Swap This

You can swap the kidneys for an additional 250g diced beef.
