Now, before we get to the Savoury Egg Bites recipe we need to point out that using cous cous in this way is classed as a ‘tweak’ by Slimming World.

There are lots of opinions on ‘tweaks’ so just to make things clear, if you choose to syn the cous cous this recipe will work out at approximately 1 syn each. However, if you don’t syn the cous cous then you can have 5 for 1 syn.

Savoury Egg Bites | Slimming World & Weight Watchers Friendly

Personally we don’t syn the cous cous in this recipe, as we don’t have these Savoury Egg Bites too often.

If we were to eat them on a regular basis we wouldn’t syn the cous cous either, we’d just use breadcrumbs and syn them instead!

What it boils down to is this – the decision is yours. Everyone’s journey is their own and it is not our place to make decisions for others.

If you make these and chose not to syn the cous cous and it affects your weight loss then start to syn it as Slimming World recommend (ie as the food it is replacing)

If you make this regularly and it doesn’t have any affect on your weight loss and you continue to lose consistently then why stop?

The Sausage

We used low fat chipolatas, which were 0.5 Syns, but you can use whatever low fat sausage you prefer, just remember to check the Syns, points or calories, as they vary depending on brand!

Whenever we need to replace oil in cooking we use Frylight. Perfect for everyday frying and cooking, it delivers exactly one calorie per spray, which makes it Syn free! The Sunflower or Olive Oil flavours are ideal for this Low Syn Savoury Egg Bites recipe.
