Caramel Apple Upside-Down Cake
Caramelised apples work together beautifully in this topsy-turvy cake. Using low-calorie syrup to bring the calories down, we've coated our layer of apple slices in a sticky, caramel-flavoured glaze. Bake the lightly spiced cinnamon sponge until it's fluffy and gorgeously golden. Enjoy it (right-side up!) with a cuppa, a glug of custard or both!
Hints & Tips
Below we added some of our communities most common hints and tips. We hope you find them useful.
It's important to use a deep tin as a cake will rise up and over the top of a shallow tin.
Use a white granulated sweetener that has the same weight, texture and sweetness as sugar.
