Try cutting into mini, bite-sized chunks and laying out for everyone to share.
A perfectly cooked egg wrapped in herby sausage and a crumb coating, Scotch Eggs are a staple of picnics everywhere!
With so many varieties of low fat sausages available, why not try experimenting with different flavours to find your favourite?
If you’re catering for vegetarians, we have you covered with our Vegetarian Scotch Eggs.
A picnic isn’t complete without a crisp, fresh salad. Our Greek Salad is full of colour and is a great choice for picnics.
Keep any dressing separate until just before serving to avoid any soggy leaves.
You can use mini pots like these ones from Amazon to take a few different dressings so there’s something for everyone.
Serve in a fancy melamine bowl with salad tongs and tuck in!
A simple quiche can be enjoyed hot or cold, and makes a great picnic food!
It’s also one of our most budget friendly dishes as you can make the most of any leftovers you have in the fridge rather than throwing them away.
We’ve used traditional bacon, onion and cheese in our Crustless Quiche Lorraine but this works well with leftover broccoli, mushrooms and peppers too.
Just because you’re outdoors, that doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy hot food on the go!
A soup flask, like this one from Amazon, is perfect for storing soup for drinking away from home. It also comes in handy for work or school packed lunches too.
A soup flask can be taken on long walks or hikes, or simply to enjoy if you’d prefer something different as part of your picnic buffet.
A cup of Spicy Tomato Soup works really well alongside sandwiches for something more substantial.
Whether you’re dipping pitta bread or a selection of crusty vegetable crudites, Hummus is one of our essential picnic foods!
Our favourites are sticks of carrot, cucumber and celery, but you could use any firm veggies or crusty bread if you prefer.
For something a little different, try Red Pepper Hummus.
Pasta is fast, filling and delicious hot or cold! If you’re looking for a change from a BLT Sandwich or have many hungry mouths to feed.
It’s bright and colourful with added salad leaves, and a fresh BLT Pasta Salad on summery day is one of our favourite meals!
Why not upgrade a standard picnic to an indulgent afternoon tea?
If you’re catering for grown ups, add a refreshing, boozy Long Island Iced Tea!
The calories in our sweet and light Marshmallow Bars are much lower than shop bought versions, and they’re SO easy to make!
Children and adults alike love these bars as a snack or as part of a picnic.
You can also make them a few days in advance to save time on rushed mornings when you want to make the most of the sun!
