Top 10 Vegan and Vegetarian Recipes
Now that Veganuary feels like a distant memory and the influx of vegan and vegetarian recipes seems to have slowed down, here’s our round up of some of our best meat free and vegan recipes for every meal of the day.
Some of them involve simple swaps, just look for the ‘V’ symbol for vegetarian, and ‘VG’ for vegan in our recipes!
Chocolate Waffles
Start the day right with this sweet and indulgent vegetarian breakfast. These Chocolate Waffles taste SO naughty, you won’t believe they are slimming friendly! Serve with plenty of fresh fruit on the side, and a dollop of Greek yoghurt or a squirt of aerosol cream, if you like.

Vegan Chilli
When you’re craving a hearty, comforting dinner that the whole family will love, try our Vegan Chilli. It’s also dairy free and gluten free when you use a gluten free stock cube, so you can count on it when you need to cater for a number of different dietary requirements!
Serve with lots of fluffy rice, or Rustic Wedges to share.
Cheese, Onion and Potato Pie
Cheese. Onion. Pastry.
Can it get much better than this?
Our Cheese, Onion and Potato Pie is made with easy to acquire ingredients, and looks great on the table!
Our Facebook group rave about this dish, and we can see why: it’s a hearty, warming and savoury pie that saves tons of calories compared with its high-fat shortcrust cousin.
Serve it with steamed vegetables as a fab alternative to a Sunday roast.
Vegan Campfire Stew
Don’t let the name of the star ingredient put you off: the uber trendy jackfruit brings a wonderfully ‘meaty’ texture to our Vegan Campfire Stew!
Stuffed with colourful veggies and filling fibre, you can even chuck it all in the slow cooker and get on with your day.
We think this is substantial enough on its own but feel free to add Savoury Rice or even Mashed Potato to make it go further.
Spinach and Pesto Hummus
For a mid afternoon pick-me-up or a lunch on the go, you can’t beat a pile of chopped veggies or some crusty bread dipped in a delicious hummus.
We serve with cucumber, celery and carrot sticks, but any leftovers will work.
Our Spinach and Pesto Hummus offers a refreshing twist on the classic Hummus Style Dip, but you can make up lots of flavours including Red Pepper and Caramelised Onion.
Jewelled Giant Couscous
We’re always really impressed with how creative you can be with flavours despite skipping the meat, and this Jewelled Giant Couscous is no exception.
Sumac gives this delicious side dish an earthy, lemon flavour, while the pomegranate seeds provide a burst of colour.
You can have this restaurant quality food from the cupboard to the table in less than 20 minutes, too.
Serve this couscous as a side alongside our delicious Falafel Burgers or as part of a Mediterranean feast with dishes of Mediterranean Roasted Cauliflower and Grilled BBQ Courgettes for everyone to share.
Halloumi Cous Cous Burgers
Is there anything better than tucking into golden brown pan-fried halloumi?
Actually there is, when you mix it with crispy couscous and a tangy tomato salsa, of course!
Our Halloumi Couscous Burgers have it all – delicious, savoury cheese, a crunchy coating and a salsa you won’t be to resist.
Plate these up with Coleslaw and Chunky Chips.
Imam Bayildi
Tapas Tuesday, anyone? Or Thursday, or Sunday, or any day!
We love serving up lots of small plates in true tapas style, although the dishes you can pick are limitless.
Our Imam Bayildi is a rich and tomatoey dish that tastes so good it translates to ‘The Imam Fainted’!
You’ll be pleased to know that fainting is not mandatory to enjoy these stuffed aubergines, but they do work well in a tapas buffet.
More traditional dishes are Patatas Bravas, Mexican Rice and Mexican Corn on the Cob. You could even skip the chicken in these Chicken and Black Bean Mini Tortillas.
Try your own twist on tapas, and let us know what you loved!
Briam
There’s a reason why potatoes are a veggie and vegan essential, they are so versatile.
Filling and friendly on the wallet, you can have them Mashed, Roasted, Loaded or even Hasselback!
One of our favourite potato based dishes is super simple take on a Greek dish, Briam, and it truly does taste as good as it looks.
We love serving them as a snack or as a side dish, but they even work for breakfast: check out our Onion and Chive Potato Waffles.
Caramelised Onion Cheese Toasties
If you’re craving a substantial sarnie that will hit the spot, look no further.
Mouth watering melty cheese and sweet caramelised onions combine in our divine Caramelised Onion Cheese Toasties.
They are so easy to prepare, and in our opinion they beat the coffee shop versions hands-down!
Serve with a lush Greek Salad or even dip in a cup of our Spicy Tomato Soup, there’s no judgement here!
