1. Morrisons American Pancake Mix – 64 calories per pancake
We can’t wait for Shrove Tuesday on the 4th of March! With just a few days to go, now’s the time to pick up a box of Morrisons American Pancake Mix.
When you don’t have the time to rustle your batter up from scratch, this handy affordable pack is a life-saver. Simply add eggs and water and give everything a good mix!

2. Barissimo Latte Protein Iced Coffee – 125 calories per 250ml serving
Starting the day isn’t just about food, you need to think about beverages too! This Barissimo Latte Protein Iced Coffee from Aldi is ideal if you’re on the go. A chilled blend of latte-style coffee, milk and sweetener, you’ll find it with the other refrigerated ‘food to go’ options.
We can’t kick-start our day without the taste of coffee. These Raspberry Mocha Granola Pots will have you jumping out of bed, with decadent-tasting layers of crunchy homemade granola, chocolatey yoghurt and juicy raspberries.
Infused with espresso, cocoa powder and sticky-sweet maple syrup, the granola-style oats at the bottom are well worth digging for.
Barissimo Latte Protein Iced Coffee is available from Aldi, priced at 99p per cup.
3. PerfectTed Matcha Powder Vanilla – 10 calories per 1/2 teaspoon
This one’s a really versatile breakfast pick! In teas and lattes or porridge and overnight oats, a sprinkling of this PerfectTed Vanilla Bean Matcha Powder goes a long way.
The caffeine levels are lower in matcha powder without compromising on the energy boost you’d get from a cup of coffee.
Oats are another gorgeous source of slow-release fibre and energy, so they’re well worth pencilling into your morning routine. Try waking up to a cosy portion of Cinnamon Roll Baked Oats.

4. Bio & Me Super Nutty Muesli – 245 calories per 60g serving
Do your gut a favour and start the day with Bio & Me Super Nutty Muesli. It’s made with a blend of 30 different plant-based ingredients, including pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, wholegrain wheat and oats.
Why not add a crunchy scoop to a bowl of fat-free Greek yoghurt for a high-protein, low-fat breakfast?
These Peanut Butter and Jelly Pots make the most of a classic combination of flavours. We’ve gone for strawberries and strawberry jam, but you could always use raspberries or blackcurrants if you’d prefer.
Bio & Me Super Nutty Muesli is available from Sainsbury’s, priced at £3.35 per box (or £2.50 with a Nectar card).
5. The Gym Kitchen Blueberry Muffin Protein Yoghurt – 130 calories per pot
The unique flavour of this The Gym Kitchen Blueberry Muffin Protein Yoghurt caught our eye in an instant. It might just be us, but we find that some high-protein yoghurts can be a bit thick and clumpy in texture, while this one’s light and creamy.
It’s just as delicious whether you enjoy it in the morning with some granola and fruit, or as a sweet pick-me-up later in the day.
If you love blueberry muffins as much as we do, turn to pages 178-179 in our Air Fryer cookbook. These Air Fryer White Chocolate and Blueberry Muffins are so fluffy and berry-licious, you’ll be coming back for seconds and thirds.
Stash any leftovers in an airtight container as a grab-and-go breakfast or cuppa-time snack.

6. Horlicks Porridge – 303 calories per 50g serving with 240ml semi-skimmed milk
On a cold morning, it’s a known fact that nothing beats a warm bowl of porridge. Inspired by the nutty-sweet drink, this Horlicks Porridge is made up of clusters of jumbo oats coated in delicious malty goodness.
Just imagine adding a drizzle of honey and berries to a freshly-prepared bowl…
Porridge never gets boring in our household because we’re always getting creative with toppings. You might look at this bowl of Biscoff and Banana Porridge and think ‘that’s not a slimming-friendly breakfast!’, and yet we’ve kept things nice and light at 260 calories per bowl.
We like to make this recipe using oat milk, but you could try almond or soya milk, or simply use dairy if you prefer – just remember to work out any additional calories.

7. Kellogg’s Oaties Original Crunch Breakfast Cereal – 114 calories per 30g serving
It’s tough to miss brand-new, bright-red boxes of Kellogg’s Oaties Original Crunch Breakfast Cereal in the supermarket aisles at the moment. Pour some into a bowl and add your choice of milk for a quick, easy, nutritious start to the day.
Made with wholegrain oats, they’re high in fibre and packed with vitamins – but that doesn’t stop us adding even more by scattering berries on top!
It’s amazing when you think about how versatile oats are. We usually use Ready Brek as the fine flour for our Oat Pancakes, but you can blitz larger oats in a blender instead.

8. Tesco Finest Rhubarb and Custard Hot Cross Buns – 185 calories per bun
Stop scrolling if you’ve got a soft spot for sweet breakfast time treats! Fruity and rich, these Tesco Finest Rhubarb and Custard Hot Cross Buns are filled with sultanas, rhubarb purée, chunks of rhubarb and a vanilla cream.
Pop them under the grill for a couple of minutes until they’re golden brown.
If rhubarb and custard is a dream combination in your book, you’ll love opening your fridge to a ready-to-eat bowl of Rhubarb and Custard Overnight Oats.
A golden oldie on our website, you’ll need chia seeds to help set our slimming-friendly layer of custard,or you can use 40 grams of oats instead.

9. Harvest Morn Rocky Rainbow Bars – 92 calories per bar
You know you’ve got a fun day ahead if it kicks off with Harvest Morn Rocky Rainbow Bars. There are 5 bars in a pack from Aldi, making them really handy and cost-effective to throw in your bag when you’re short on time.
They’re sweet, gooey and only 92 calories per marshmallow-speckled bar.
If you’re looking for a sweet breakfast bite you can make ahead of time, look no further than our Banana and Peanut Muffins. They’re just as yummy whether you snack on them on the go, or pop them in a bowl with some fruit and yoghurt.
No matter what, one thing’s for sure…you’ll want to make some room in your freezer.

10. Myprotein Breakfast Loaded Wrap – 392 calories per oven-baked wrap
This Myprotein Breakfast Loaded Wrap packs all the flavours you’d want from a classic English breakfast into an easy, ready-prepared bundle. You can air-fry it until crispy within half an hour, or – if you’re too hungry to wait – pop it in the microwave for a couple of minutes.
It’s basically a drive-through fakeaway for breakfast, just like our very own Breakfast Wrap recipe. Ours comes stuffed with cheese, bacon, sauce, hash browns AND a juicy sausage patty.
To make things lighter, we’ve made our hash browns from scratch with a spritz of low-calorie cooking spray, and thrown in a couple of reduced-fat ingredient swaps for good measure.
The only question left is…red sauce, brown sauce or both?

NEW Aldi Super 6 Fruit and Veg Selection
We love Aldi’s fortnightly selection of fresh fruit and veggies! They choose different items for a special offer where you can pick them up for much less than the normal price.
Here’s a rundown of the recipes we’d make with this week’s Super 6 offering.
Unwaxed Lemons – 17 calories per 100g
With Pancake Day around the corner, it’s well worth stocking up on lemons while they’re in Aldi’s Super 6 selection. Pair them with sugar, or take things up a notch with a drizzle of chocolate and berries.
Not a fan of pancakes? Make a fluffy stack of Lemon and Blueberry Waffles instead.
Bananas – 89 calories per 100g
We’ve got no choice! We’ll have to stock up on bunches of bananas to make our scrumptious Banana and Biscoff Pancakes.

Chestnut Mushrooms – 17 calories per 100g
A staple of slimming-friendly cooking, mushrooms of any kind are ideal for adding extra goodness (and very few calories!) to just about any recipe.
Give them their time to shine with our Mushroom Carbonara recipe. The velvety homemade sauce tastes way more indulgent than it is.
Grapefruit – 42 calories per 100g
Grapefruit doesn’t appear in the Super 6 very often! Add one or two to your basket and you’ll be left with a fresh, juicy ingredient you can chop into fruit salads, use as a pancake topper or bake into tarts.

Blueberries – 57 calories per 100g
Blueberries pack a punch when it comes to vitamin C and antioxidants. Sprinkle a few on your breakfast, pair them with yoghurt or bake them into these Lemon and Blueberry Baked Oats.
Hearty and filling, these are guaranteed to fuel you until lunchtime!
Braeburn Apples – 51 calories per 100g
Perfect for this breakfast edition of The Weekly Pinch of Shopping, braeburn apples are just the ticket to make your morning bowl of porridge even more delicious.
