This recipe is our take on the traditional Chinese restaurant dish of tender strips of beef, coated in a sticky, lightly spiced sauce. Perfect for when you want something that feels naughty, but isn’t packed full of extra calories, this dish is a great weekend dinner as you can just pop it in the oven and forget about it for a couple of hours!

How to Batch

Cool within 2 hours of cooking, without the sesame seeds, then divide the cooked recipe into individual servings and freeze immediately

Make sure you use a granulated sweetener with the same texture as sugar, not powdered

NEW TIP
Slow cooked to perfection.
If you have folk who aren't partial to heat I'd omit the chillies on top, however they do add quite a kick to this dish. Also used medallion steaks which after tendering seemed to appreciate the slow cooking process.
One of the best beef pon recipes to date!!
I cooked this in the slow cooker and omitted the sweetener and it turned out perfectly.
I found this recipe made easily enough for 3 portions
This went perfectly with roasted soy and ginger broccoli from the Enjoy book
Delicious, and works in the slow cooker.
Took a chance and tried the recipe in the slow cooker. 4hrs on high and it was delicious, beef was really tender and just melted in the mouth.
If too much sauce when cooking on slow cook in the ninja, you can saute at the end to reduce down
6 hours low settings in slow cooker
I took lid off slow cooker for last hour
Super tasty
So easy to make and so full of flavour! We added some more fresh chillies and more Sriracha for extra spice! And served with lettuce wraps. Just make sure you leave enough time as it takes 3 hours to cook in the oven
Delicious and filling!

I have just made this and the book says 100g of granulated sweetener.Can you or someone please confirm the correct amount.

    Hi Sasha, we use granulated sweetener that has a like for like weight and texture as sugar not the powdery kind. We have an article HERE that explains types of sweeteners available that you may find helpful.

    Hey Lisa, we use granulated sweetener that is the same weight and texture as sugar so it can easily be substituted for sugar instead. if you have a look at THIS article it talks you through how to make alterations to the nutritional information. Hope that helps!
