Ever heard the saying, ‘Don’t knock it until you’ve tried it’? If you’ve never tried banana in a savoury dish, you are in for a real treat! A takeaway favourite of ours, this curry contains similar flavours to a korma or Kashmiri dish. It’s packed with tender chicken in a rich and creamy sauce, with added fibre and nutrition from the sliced bananas.

Hints & Tips

Below we added some of our communities most common hints and tips. We hope you find them useful.

Swap this

Swap the chicken breast for chicken thighs, or try fat-free natural yoghurt instead of fat-free Greek yoghurt.

Add the banana last and add enough chilli for a spicy treat!
This was stunning, I used lazy chilli and added a level teaspoon which was the perfect amount of heat for my tastes. I am freezing three portions so spilt it first and then added banana to the one I was having so it doesn’t go mushy when reheated 🥰
Loved it, made it while away in our caravan
Had to substitute garam masala for curry powder and used chilli flakes instead of a chilli due to limited supplies in the caravan but worked really well.

Hi Sue, our Chicken and Banana Curry is best suited to cooking on the hob so we wouldn’t recommend slow cooking it. Hope this helps

One of our favourite recipes! It’s my 10 year old daughter’s favourite meal but we use only half a chilli so it’s not too spicy. Thank you!
